I have the kit from Vorshlag and it works really well. I do take my car to the track and I can say with confidence these work.
I actually had the JLT kit but decided to upgrade to Vorshlag's, if you don't go to the track then the JLT kit is enough.
EDIT: just saw your reply about the rears. As...
I think that where the oil cooler is, and you're probably missing an o-ring to seal between the cooler and the block. Or it could installed wrong... pictures?
For the rear calipers you are supposed to screw the piston back in, not push it. There is a very useful tool for that, here is one example https://www.summitracing.com/parts/apt-78618
Also, IMO the powerstop pads are not enough for the GT500. We have the same pads on my dad's Mazda and they're...
Probably not because the pump needs to be primed with water to work. So any air bubbles the pump will stop working.
You can flush most of it by disconnecting the HE, to completely change the coolant you'll have to flush the whole system a couple of times with new coolant.
I don't know what or where this contamination is coming from, at the very least I don't believe its rust.
I've referenced the TMO thread because if it was dirt from the clutch, then the brake fluid should stay clean once the two systems are separated, and thats what people have reported.
Stainless steel does not rust, it behaves like aluminum where it forms a protective layer. In a highly corrosive environment it might but not in this case. Even if it did, the moisture absorbed by the brake fluid is already bonded to it, so how would it bond to the metal also?
Furthermore, if...
I don't think the rust explanation is valid.
The braking system has all stainless steel or aluminum components so where is the rust coming from?
Rust is still metal, and it will flake. The dirt described does no resemble rust at all.
Finally, this dirt accumulates fast and people have observed...
There is a thread on this issue on TMO forums. The short answer is the dirt comes from the clutch because it shares the reservoir with the brakes.
People who installed a reservoir for the clutch noted that the brake fluid stayed clean and the clutch fluid got dirty with the same stuff you're...
Short answer, anything you get is better than stock. There are multiple threads of reviews and you should see IAT2 30-35* above ambient with either one. Any other mod will not have a direct effect on IAT2 alone, at least I haven't seen any.
That being said, best solution by far is killer...
Well, in your use case you need the magic pad that'll endure abuse but have good street-ability, which doesn't exist. You're gonna have to try a couple of pads and see what you like best. Don't go overboard and get pads that won't work unless hot, that'd be dangerous.
I personally went with the...
This really sums it up, both companies took an idea and refined it as much as they can and only they know the limitations of their product and under what circumstance it would perform best.
If one product was superior we'd know right away, and this thread wouldn't exist.
Being an engineer myself, I agree with you regarding the time to upgrade components. We have terrible roads where I live and the boaty feeling was too much and frankly terrifying at times. Thats why I went to watts even though I wasn't tracking my car at the time. To be honest, stiffer springs...
Maximum motorsport provides a rough calculation for anti-squat geometry in their installation manual. For handling, you want the highest hole and depending on your ride hight I think anti-squat should be around %50.
When it comes to finding cg, there is no easy way, either estimation or find a...
Seeing as most comments are supportive, I want to balance things out. You suck and you should buy a Honda. lol
Seriously though, I think colors on wheels are really hard to get but as long as you like it who cares. Enjoy it man :)
Yep, its probably the vent tube. I also had the same issue after HPDE, there was oil all over the trans and my conclusion was overheating and spilling from the vent tube. You can buy an air scoop for the trans, MM and FRPP make nice ones.
I'm also getting heat shields for the exhaust pipes...
Ok, what mods do you have, can you elaborate on what you were doing and why.
Nothing in the accessory can stop an engine from turning, and the engine won't seize suddenly at idle.
From the supplement book of the 07-09, front 194.7 lb/in rear 166.7lb/in.
Most of the lowering springs are under 300 lb/in while coilovers are over 300.
