ok,I do have a wideband on there. Probably time to replace the 02 sensor on it though. Just wondering if that valve just starts getting bad one day or how that works. So I can hook up the SCT tuner from my lightning and datalog the same way. What would I be looking for as indicators for what...
and maybe it is time I find someone who can tune remotely, I had it done down at HPP racing when I lived in texas. It has a chip that plugs into the ECU it is so old. :)
I do have a handheld for the lightning I used and had to datalog for the tuner on that one. Not sure if I can use the same program? I had this car tuned in 2003 and it has never been touched since. Hell i wouldn't even know what I would be looking for. I know it is sad but was always good...
I just talked to the tuner and he said if i am not getting a retune or at least put it on a dyno to check, he recommends replacing the PPRV. Would this make sense? If so where does a guy buy one of those? My cars suddenly starting falling on its face for a second on hard shifts, then pulls...
Was wondering if anyone could tell me what/where I would buy factory replacement fuel pumps. I am dropping the tank to do the PPRV delete and I figured while I'm in there I might as well replace the 20 year old pumps. Not trying to get it retuned so just want to stick with factory. Does...
Ok and it doesn't matter that this car was tuned almost 20 years ago and has ran fine ever since, year after year and nothing has been changed? Just started happening this summer all at once.
Having a issue, when you are getting into it, it wants to bog for a half of a second on shifts. If you ease into the throttle and not really getting on it hard there is no problem. But doesn't matter what gear or what RPM you shift at, if it is hard into the throttle, then shift and hard into...
So with the 2.9.....I have been quoted with the "standard inlet" and the "mono blade" version, what is the difference? Is it basically saying you have to use the factory throttle body on one and say a accufab on the other?
so would a VMP be a smarter choice or stick with the whipple, guess I mights as well do a fuel sytem right away. Questions for the guys that did the fuel system, did you do a return style right away? Does your fuel system "whine" kind of like the old external aeromotive pumps? you said lethal...
Yep, I appreciate the help, now to piece together or find a perfect fuel system that isn't crazy but with do both E85 and gas and find a tuner around my neck of the woods. I do appreciate all the advice.
Also when you say crusher only? You mean in intake where the throttle body will hold to? I’m assuming accufab is what most folks go with? I see some 2.9 kits come with that throttle body and cai like you said, are those better ?
I appreciate the input, going to start putting together a package, find a tuner either on here or try to find one closer maybe and see if they like the package, then pull the trigger and get it all done this winter, hopefully she is a smooth machine hitting the streets in the spring
So if I went the 2.9 or 3.0 route? Not sure which one would be better, what pulley would I order it with to start off safe on 93 pump gas? U said new in the tank pumps right away, injectors? Injectors right away? I’m assuming with those two blowers would need a new throttle body and Maf? Would...
So would there be any advantage of going with a 2.9 right away and just run lower boost so if I ever decide I need more, then will just have to do the fuel system and tune?
yeah that makes sense, just don't know what that would be. She is lowered, shifter, new rims and tires last year, exhaust etc. Some say to just find a good deal on a 2.3 whipple, factory fuel system no problem, get me into that upper 500 RWHP world, don't have to do much. Some say don't waste...
Yep, man if I remember right I met you years and years ago, you used to do those gaskets? Back when I was stationed in Texas. Maybe I'm going crazy though. Anyhow, yeah, don't drive it much but when I do I just don't get that excitement anymore, maybe I'm getting old, maybe I just need more...
ok, yeah up here in wisconsin the car is in storage from about sept to apr/may so alot of sitting, I know alot of our small engine we have to run non ethanol because by the time you pull them back out from storage the carbs are corroded with this white stuff
do any of you guys run E85? The tuner said going the E85 route would be much better? If so what are the down falls of that besides trying to find a pump?
