    1999 Cobra SVT recall work?

Hey guys, I've decided to replace the heads on my '96 Cobra with the 2003+ heads, so I also need to get a '99-'01 manifold set. Naturally I want the fixed ones. Does anyone have a part number or casting number for the revised manifolds? I've heard of stickers and "BA" stamped somewhere; but...

Look at my dirty, dirty pistons. And head!

Hi all. Finally got the driver's side head off my '96, to fix a failed helicoil repair for the ol' blown-out-plug defect. I need to ream out the hole and put a Time-Sert in there. Meanwhile, though, would anyone like to weigh in on the condition of this engine? Obviously the surfaces are caked...

Water pump would rather break apart than come out...

    OK, well, that explains it.

Water pump would rather break apart than come out...

Thanks. How did you deal with the SAI tubing being in the way? It’s quite rigid.

Water pump would rather break apart than come out...

Thanks. I got it loose by whacking it with a regular hammer. The O-ring area is in good shape.

Water pump would rather break apart than come out...

Hi all. I need to remove my water pump so I can get the timing cover off my '96 Cobra; the cover is confined by the water pump and the SAI tubing, and I don't want to break that tubing. I'll replace the water pump while I'm at it, because it's at 160K miles anyway. I've removed the four bolts...

    Valve Cover Removal

Great write-up, thanks. Just pulled my passenger-side cover and had to remove the heater core line where it goes into the firewall. I already had the fuel rail clear. Now, the Ford manual says to remove the fuel rail, but I haven't been able to safely do that because there are two cables that...

    Brake cylinder disassembly seems impossible

Thanks guys. In the end (surprisingly), removing the power-steering lines to the booster allows more flexibility and I could brute-force the whole thing out of the firewall and up. It didn't seem that these lines were really limiting the movement that much, but apparently they were.

    Brake cylinder disassembly seems impossible

On further infuriating struggles and research on this, I don't think the master cylinder and booster are intended to be separated while installed. But they can't be removed from the car, because the booster hits the strut tower before the bolts clear the firewall! This is seriously pissing me...

    Brake cylinder disassembly seems impossible

OK, thanks. Right now I'm trying to figure out how I'm even going to detach the lines from the proportioning valve.

    Brake cylinder disassembly seems impossible

Hi all. I need to pull the driver's side heads off. I read this thread about valve-cover removal, but have reached an impasse at separating the brake cylinder from the booster. Not only is the bottom nut on the back of my master cylinder (unlike that depicted in the other thread), but even...

Which way do these brake pads go?

Hi all. Was changing the brakes on my '96 the other day but ran into a perplexing situation: Two of the new pads have factory-attached clips (springs) and two don't. There are also the loose clips that you snap onto the pads where there are no factory-attached ones. I've only taken the...
