It’s a 2011.
Car hasn’t been driven very hard. Never taken to the track. In fact when the issue presented itself I was on a road trip just doing highway speeds. Of course when I passed people I geared down and had some fun but I wasn’t anywhere near redline.
Car is a (recently) built 5.8L, stock cams, 3.2 Kenne Bell. All the goodies. 878/832 at the wheels.
Noticed the car sounded like it was lightly missing when the engine was under load... just did a compression test and #6 is especially low at 100psi.
complete compression test results are as...
Very interesting. What’s also interesting is that the car was freshly tuned by lund a year ago and all last driving season I didn’t have this issue once. I’m beginning to wonder if that because my car was in winter storage- the battery of course was stone dead this spring. I installed a new...
I seem to be making some ground here. Just got back from a 60mile cruise and it didn’t happen once. I sprayed some WD-40 on the ends of the shaft that holds the blade and i cleaned the throttle body (there was a small amount of blow by oil resting behind the blade). I’m really starting to think...
I should note that I’ve driven mine A LOT since this started, in a effort to figure out what is actually happening. At one point (in the beginning) I couldn’t make 1 mile without having to restart the car 3 times. But it’s spaced out a lot since then. The other night I did a 1 hour cruise and it...
I’m going to ride this out to see if I can find a fix for it. It seems the more I drive the car - the less it occurs. It’s very interesting that there’s a few of us having this exact problem right now. That leads me to believe that it’s something very simple causing the problem.
Only once the car warms up. Seems to only happen when the car is cruising at a low rpm then if I let off the gas it gets stuck closed.
When I changed the electronics it seemed like it was happening less. I’m not sure if that’s because when I had the TB apart I manually opened and closed it a...
Have you made any ground on this? I have the exact same issue with my 168 after bringing the car out of winter storage. So far I have replaced the electronics and that didnt fix it.
I saw on the GT500 Facebook forum another guy with this same issue.... some replies indicated that putting some...
I’m really happy with the 3.2, I have a smaller pulley that would give me 19-20psi but I’m good at this power level for now. I’m just going to focus on enjoying it the way it is before i try blowing it up again.

This is from the drags in Edmonton, AB and the truck is my brothers 82 GMC with a 496 that makes 720 at the motor. The truck beats the hellcat with a time of 11.62 @ 116 vs the Hellcat's 11.71 @ 121. There were two other Hellcat's there that night, one of which...
This is too neat not share on here.. (video link at bottom)
A 1968 Firebird Sprint. This came with a 4bbl, 4spd combo on the overhead cam 250ci engine. Its my dads car and upon purchase of it 15 years ago he was tempted to make it a 400 big block. Being that the straight 6 Overhead Cam engine...
Preparing to do a build on my 2011.
Since the car will be getting torn apart, I am looking to get my hands on a few things...
-Dual fan heat exchanger
-Long tube headers
-Catless H pipe
-Driver Side Oil Separator
Not interested in damaged goods. I will not low ball offer anyone but...
