Thank you. I've had no luck finding an oem black top so far.
Auto tops direct, says they make one with the same haartz twillfast rpc like it was apparently from the factory. But I'm not sure if I trust it.
Been a while, but the old girl has developed 2 leaks near the bottom corners of the rear glass on the vert, just curious on who makes or carries the best replacement top?
Thanks
I think the pulley solved the issue. Made a few hits to 7k and no battery light. Still think its weird how you can run an alternator for 5 years with a small pulley have 0 issues, and then replace that alternator with the exact same one and they now cant take it. But over all I'm happy because I...
Ya I just put a larger pulley on, and no issues so far just driving around but no full hits yet, the next sunny day will let me know if the larger pulley fixed the issue as I'll make a full hit to 7k on the car.
Forgot to ask, is it normal for my x4 when I'm using the live data to be .5 - .7 volts different to when I use a multimeter at the battery? So for example at the battery it reads 14.4 but in the car through the sct x4 13.7
Ya hopefully the better quality fixes the issue, just been pissing me off, going over the car over and over looking for something wrong trying to enjoy the car. The 2.95 pulley puts me at 16,016 shaft speed.
Thanks for the replies, I just put a 2.95 pulley on the latest reman, should put me right around 16000 rpm, just blows my mind that my old alternator took abuse for 5 years never had an issue even with the small pulley, and these new ones cant even do it 1 time.
Well, still a little lost on this alternator issue, I ordered a kmj unit and now I've just been waiting for it as he got pretty sick a week ago.
I've been messing around with reman alternators and have killed 4 of them. 3 I tried back to back to back they didnt survive a day.
So I rewired...
I also found a 76mm/2.95", ford 4g pulley well that's at least what it says, and that will get me in the rpm area I need to be. But I'm not getting my hope's up on that pulley till its actually in my hands and I can confirm it's the correct pulley.
And bad cobra, have you ever had a cooling...
Hey guys, I have an 03 turbo cobra with a 01 cobra alternator, just curious on a couple things. I'm running I believe a 6.75 balancer, with a 2.2 pulley on the alternator at a max engine rpm of 7000, and that's spinning the absolute crap out of it like 21000 rpms. I would need a 3.0" pulley to...
Ya it sounds exactly like mine. it makes zero noise car on or off, the only time it makes noise is when releasing the clutch while in gear, I have given up trying to find the issue, and will try figuring it out when it's time to change the clutch. The only thing I've noticed that help a bit was...
I'm not 100% on the mileage, but its over 10k miles. I bet if you listen really closely you can here it more often than you think. Even on downshifts slowing down coming to a stop.
Hey Bdubbs, my dyad is the exact same way it chirps when releasing the clutch in first gear. I've had the tranny out twice, switched the pilot bearing and tob, and clutch fork and it still does the exact same thing. I have a lot a miles on the clutch, last time I had it apart I had about 50%...
I only switched my pump because I notice my afr's being higher than normal, this was after logging my fuel pumps, and changing my fuel filter, and cleaning everything still was a bit higher than the norm. So I switched pumps which is recommended after 5 years and yup my pump was on the way out...
I wouldn't use meth on the extreme side like adding a ton of boost and a bunch of timing. But like anything else it can fail, but also your fuel pump could fail, your injector could fail. It can be used to add power but its a personal decision. There's 2 sides to the coin, you could use it to...
I'm from Canada as well and I run a 3 nozzle prometh trunk mount setup on my turbo car. Pro meths website is terrible, but I recommend you call and talk to Rodney from prometh, he will answer any of your questions and set you up with what you need. I've had my system for 5 plus years, and I just...
Thanks for the reply, well I checked my chassis grounds and did a diode test, all seems fine there I'm starting to suspect the voltage regulator is going bad in the alternator.
Hey, just started having a battery light issue where if I leave my car parked for a couple days, start the car I get a battery light, I then pull out the multimeter and it's not charging the battery. So I then pull off the negative battery terminal and leave it for a while, come back and hook up...
It's pretty good for the most part, I have a decent sized set of cams in my car, so my car usually likes a bit of throttle before i release the clutch.
