Same exact experience here on my last 3 sets of 305/35/18. They also will wear out the inside tread twice as fast as the outside edge if you run anything close to 30psi. I run mine at 28psi to try and get 7500 miles out of them, and thats going to the belts.
I definitely will be trying...
I have the styling bar in mine, and I would think it could only help in a rollover. I feel like it helps a bit with body twist as well, since my dad's bone stock 03 Vert seems a little more wiggly than mine, but that could be due to other mods as well. Will it be as good as a coupe? Of course...
I would sell the coupe and keep the vert. The kids will enjoy the vert MUCH more than the coupe, its lower mileage, and it will be reliable and fun for a very long time.
Yes the coupe may gain some value over the years, but thats very high mileage and you have another one. Maybe sell the coupe...
I've had 3 sets of MT SS in 305/35/18 and I wish I would have tried the TQ in 315/35/18.
The MT's hook awesome, but wear out friggin fast and to get even wear I have to keep them at like 25psi. Otherwise they wear out the middle twice as fast as the outside.
The TQ's are back in stock at...
My RXT is very near the top as well, but its not an on/off switch. I can crawl it along with no chatter or noise, its just at the top of pedal travel.
Subscribing to see how you fix it, I'd like it to be in the middle or closer to the floor as well. :/
So just about an hour ago I went to close the top and roll up the windows AND THE DRIVER DOOR CHIMED WHEN I OPENED IT (y)
So something I did fixed the problem, either the WD40 in the latch or the reset sequence took awhile to work?
The dome light is turning on & off instantly, so...
I've got a buddy with a badass Snap-On OBDII reader, would that maybe be able to see any GEM faults? Is it common that the ONLY issue with the GEM would be one door? All other functions work perfectly (remote fob, pass door, etc)
I tried this a dozen times, no change or chime from the drivers...
Awesome info, thanks so much. The headlight dimmer is definitely not clicked on, I made sure of that.
Is the GEM read through the OBDII port, or somewhere else?
I am 90% confident that the system is reading the driver door as ajar because:
1. The door chime works on the passenger door and...
I have had to remove the bulbs from my dome light (in the mirror since its a convertible), as they would not turn off. I got around to looking into it and found that the switch on the inside of the latch mechanism of the door frequently goes bad. No big deal, replace it and be done, right? No...
Yeah, I'm still unsure whether I should have gone to a more "street" versus "strip" tire than the MT ET Street SS. However, I know for a fact that the SS hooks up crazy good for my car, so I know I'll be happy with that. Next time around I will plan ahead alot better so I'm not making a last...
So after all that I decided to go with the 305/35/18 ET Street SS from Summit. I hope I dont get burned by an out of round crappy set and have to deal with shipping, but odds are they'll be OK.
I got em for $808 shipped, so total should be ~ within $75 of the R888R that weren't exactly the size...
Yeah I hear ya, 900 is a crazy number though, I'm sure the MT's dont even stand a chance.
Agreed, I'm starting to really consider what I want long term though, and I'm more likely to have an accident because I get caught in a popup storm than tires that dont grip when WOT.
I hear ya, just...
I'm a convertible with pretty soft suspension, and the MT's hooked like crazy. But they also are pretty soft sidewalls and I was always scared to death of getting caught in the rain since they are basically slicks after one season.
Do you think with my power I could at least roll on the loud...
So I just found some ET Streets online, but they'll end up being ~ $150 more than the R888R after I pay for mounting locally. I have only averaged like 7k miles of life on the ET Streets, so they definitely wear out quick too. :/
I cant find anyone with 305/35/18 Et Street SS in stock, and I'm down to the wear bars on mine. :/
Is the R888R in 318/30/18 a decent alternative, or am I gonna hate it? I make 630hp/600tq at the wheels, but I dont drive it like crazy. Just a nice day cruiser that I romp on here & there.
I...
Finally past break-in and getting used to this beast. Its amazing how well it hides its weight. I feel like I'm crawling in the trails and then look down and I'm doing 80mph between corners. Its frickin amazing.
Yeah I hear ya. I may change my mind when it comes time to write the check, but right now I'm in love with the '17 9000 RR. I really dont like the flat grey on the '18, but maybe it'll grow on me.
I have another 2-3 years before I have to think about upgrading, so I'll be looking at envy at...
Great lookin sled! What track length is that? Then new stuff is soooooo much longer than my little 121" LOL
When I go new it'll be a 9000 RR or Thunder Cat, depending on price & colors available. Although I'm reading great stuff on the new 800 Arctic cat as well.
I definitely dont want or need the work involved in a true retrofit with projectors. More curious how people have liked or dislike LED's. Been looking at these, they good good reviews and look decent quality...
So I currently swapped to HID headlights and am not 100% happy. Yes I know a retrofit is the correct way to do it, but I just want adequate lighting. The HID's look decent, but I have a jaggy shadow on the passenger side that is annoying.
Are LED's any better with this? Any links to the best...
