I think you are taking a gamble on a used 40k motor with a trinity. Could it have been taken care of? Sure. But it also could have been driven hard for 40k miles with an aftermarket blower.
Let's say it all works out, great.. you save some money.
Let's say you do all that work, and that motor...
Thank you, yes once your making 1100-1200whp it gets very expensive. Lots of things like to break. This car is ready to go, no expenses spared and it would like you said cost 100k to build one.
After having both a Trinity 2.3 and a Gen4 Whipple 2.9, I would stick with the trinity. I did not gain much (if anything) on the Whipple. The 2.3 Trinity is IMO the perfect pump gas blower for these cars. If you want more power (and want to go with better fuel), you can pulley down and add 15%...
I would not run a 2.4/10% lower on pump gas even with boostane. If you want gains, look into E85 but with that comes some pretty hefty expenses. Even at your current power level, I would replace the OE balancer bolt with a Kinetik Crank Saver stud for cheap insurance. If you desire the 10% lower...
Brand new O'Rileys alternator was bad out of the box. Installed a new J2Fab High Output alternator with Big 3 Wiring, and new Motorcraft AGM battery. These alternators do not fail unlike the stock replacements, new owner will not have to replace an alt. for a long time.
Price is now $28,500 --...
Check battery/alternator, those can cause a slew of issues if voltage is low. I was chasing an "idle" issue, turned out to be my alternator was dropping voltage at idle, as well as randomly throughout the powerband (per datalogs).
If he plans to run E85 he needs a full return system since he has a 2007, so he has another $1500 to spend on that, and then yes he would want ID1300s.
ID1050x are great injectors, Lund will like those. JLT 127mm intake will be good for lots of power, plugs.. ask your tuner. Also, those injectors are plug and play you will not need those clips or pins, you will use your factory clips. I have the same set, they area top of the line.
Well, I found a smoking deal on a completely built 2015 TT GT that has everything I could imagine and more. Much better platform to go fast in then the GT500. I'd probably have to drop 30k into this car to even compete.
2011 gtcs,
I’m in Gilbert, when do you want to help me drop my motor and ship it to JDM?
I need to start looking into this as well. I’ve got 65k on my 5.4 and am in the mid 700s right now. Ticking time bomb I feel.
The 15719 are upstream, the downstream OE length have no issues matching up without extra length. So far so good, I haven’t had any codes yet after about 100 miles. Will report back after another 100 or so.
