I ran two: A short one to a stud in the trunk on the body, and a second longer one through a grommet on the passenger side of the trunk to the rear subframe.
All I can say is WOW.. what a ride this has been. I haven't posted an update to this build thread since September of last year so I figured it was about time I updated everyone with what all has been going on. The last post I made was when I got the startup tune on the car and got it running...
Looking for an inline thermostat housing for the upper radiator hose (used with coolant crossover delete). I don't really care if it's an On3, Meziere, etc.. just so long as it is in good condition. Let me know what you have!
No problem, its not terrible and you're going to experience that with any high capacity oil pan, but I wouldn't run it without some kind of protection.
I have a MMR oil pan and the UPR K and there is more than enough clearance. However, I need to build a thick aluminum or steel panel to help protect the pan.. it sits very-very low.
You don't necessarily have to run it up top. I reverse mounted my 03/04 alternator making my own brackets. I bought a Sullivan alternator relocation bracket (which I need to put up for sale if you're interested in it), but it wouldn't work with the headers we fabbed up.
MODS: I posted from my phone last night and didn't see where it was posted when I logged in on my computer.. Sorry for the 2nd post; will add picture w/ my info--didn't know I needed to do this with a trade.. Ian
Also interested in what color people use for Redfire.
As to the clear coat and masking, in my experience the clear coating dull's down the gloss a good bit. I normally don't use clear powder coat unless someone specifically asks for it. And yes, you need to mask off the undersides of the covers...
