I only have this last dyno sheet. Out of injector. Will pick up lots when I can rev it higher. This was 7000rpm. This blower comes on strong up top. I just finished dialing in ID1700s. Will have plenty of fuel to rev it next time. 15 pct/3.5 pulley and the auto eats lots of hp compared to a stick.
Tried to measure backpressure first time I had it on the dyno by plumbing an autometer boost gauge above ic and comparing with boost numbers. It looked like 27-29 psi above ic above 6500 rpm but it was hard to tell as the needle bounced a little actual boost under ic was 24psi. I bet now there...
KB ic has 14 rows is slightly longer core, slightly less depth. I widened, smoothed base of intake and pan to get back some of the area lost for the wider kb ic. Fact still remains that there is 1/3 more area around the tightest part core to manifold than the ported intake inlets so its a non issue.
My video shows a gen 2 kb intercooler. Im unaware of any issues with the second version. I did comprehensive pressure testing before putting it in. Id be leary about the other new cores out there until they have a lot of time in many cars like the KB does. A leak could be a very bad day.
This is a whipple 4.0 already making well over 1000whp through a 4l80e auto. With these big blowers stock size ic with the bypass shelf covering it becomes a huge restriction sometimes 2-3 psi more above the core than below. Raising or removing the bypass shelf will help reduce backpressure...
Dont have any concrete iat data yet although it seems noticably better. The big deal so far is less pressure drop across the core. I picked up about 2psi boost!
I have fully built motor with JDM ss cams and a whipple 4.0. It’s a great package that works better than they advertise. I have idle set at 750 rpm and experience perfect driveability with no hesitation or cruise issues. I would bet your problem has to do with a large Maf tube (required) and...
Compression is around 9.8:1.
15pct lower is the only balancer I’ve had. I run the 4” upper on 93 octane for a couple tanks before I put it away for winter but I don’t beat on it and under 12 deg. of timing.

I have a jdm 1500 long block with ss cams (love it) With a 15pct lower and a 4” upper it makes around 19-20psi in warm weather, Iat2 stays very cool with a triple pass he and a 14’he pump. With a 3.75 pulley it’s 21-22psi and around 1000whp (auto loses over 50whp compared to stick) with 16.5 deg...
If your estimated numbers are correct because of all the spinning on the dyno, you should trap low to mid 160s in the quarter at over 4000lbs.

I’ve been tuning my own car for a while with hp tuners. Stock motor , built motor with jdm as cams, FRPP 65mm, Frpp monoblade, whipple 170mm elipticle. Jlt 123mm , 148mm jlt 155mm etc. Both monoblades Ive had great luck with adjusting the throttle stop and have been able to achieve perfect...
