My mechanic recommended rpm transmissions. They said their labor rate is 750 no matter what is done to it. I think my mechanic gave me his price because it shows 600 for labor rate. However it does cost 180 each way for shipping the transmission.
Yes I haven’t weighed out using the same clutch yet. It’s a spec clutch just to add to anyone’s opinions. I will say drove the car about 5 miles one way home, stuck in fourth, then another 5 in fourth as well to the shop. With that being said. It surprisingly wasn’t that bad and there wasn’t a...
Yes it lives on the street however I do drive it hard. I just figured with a twin disk the drive ability aspect would make it easier. My clutch was fine before pulling the transmission. Just one of those things might as well replace will it’s out. I do occasionally do clutch dumps. With that...
I was just generally speakin. I should’ve stated what my power range preferred was first. Ideally I would like to have the car around 550-600 horsepower. So would like somethin that would withstand that.
Can anyone recommend the best highest horsepower rated twin disk clutch for a factory t56 10 spline transmission. Lighter the pedal the better. I just had my transmission pulled and it’s going to be rebuilt so would like to swap in a new clutch while I’m at it. My mechanic has personally and...
So update on the cobra. Was bad synchronizer keys which was causing it to be stuck in gear and not move. With that being said. What would anyone recommend for a clutch. My mechanic does not recommend McLeod clutches as he’s had numerous issues with them needing to be removed and sent back to the...
I have tried removing the shifter I could not pull it out of the transmission. I’ve tried moving shifter with the car movin or stopped. I can start the car no issues with the clutch pushed in. If I release it it will stall because it is in 4th gear. I have not tired the tow truck method that...
I took everything off the shifter on the top of the transmission to remove it but I could not pull the shifter off I’m assuming because it’s in gear and won’t move
No I was just stating the clutch is working fine because the car is in neutral with the clutch pushed in while in 4th gear ( I can move the car forward or reverse by someone pushing it) and then when the clutch is released in 4th gear I can physically drive the car in that gear with zero issues...
So I have a local shop and a dude I know personally that does awesome work that is going to pull my transmission and have it shipped out to a company called rpm transmissions. Anyone ever dealt with them or had any experience.
I just looked there’s one if Framingham Massachusetts but is just says elite dealer, I went on there website and I couldn’t find where it looks like they did rebuilds. Only new inventory.
Can I have any recommendations or anywhere near Maine the does transmission rebuilds or would beef this one up. I live about an hour from Massachusetts so it isn’t to far from me
So I honestly don’t feel like spending 7000 dollars on swapping out for a t56 magnum with the driveshaft, clutch and cross member. As I don’t think I’ll ever make enough power to need this transmission. However it is still not out of the question. What would any of you do if you were to have...
I had
I had no issues shiftin. This was completely fine. I went to shift out of fourth and it just didn’t budge it’s very odd and I don’t understand why besides what a previous person said with the roll pin
I hear ya it’s a crap shoot. I just don’t plan on makin crazy power with this car. So I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on a t56 magnum if I don’t have to
The car has 47000 miles. Which I would not take out of consideration as the car is 21 years old. As far as you said the car being off, it does this whether the cars runnin or it isn’t. I physically can not get the car out of gear and I’ve tried multiple different ways I’ve come to understand...
