I'm guessing it's real close like the DIY suggest because this guy got into a little squabble with the Reische guy when he found out. Here is the thread the DIY originated from.

I've had this for several years. Done this myself awhile back and it works great. Thought I would share.

The quality of the Ford Racing wires have went down terribly of the past several years. They really seem to be hit or miss now. Most people just go back with OEM and they don't have any issues. I've never heard of the Dragon Fire wires. I tried some MSD wires about a decade ago. Horrible...
Tascaparts.com is usually the first place I look. Be sure to buy from a genuine or authorized dealer. There are counterfeits out there. Years ago a guy on my Lightning forum got a hold of some fake coils for his Gen 2 L. Learned his lesson from buying stuff like that on Amazon.
Nah, I didn't get that impression at all. No worries. But I have been thinking about that conversation the tuner and I had since I read this thread question. I believe I got my 98 tuned in late 2008 then the 03 in 2009. Back then this specific tuner would reach out a few weeks after the car was...
I'm just quoting was I was told back in the day. My 03 Cobra has a much smoother idle than my 98 does. Both of mine are tuned as well. I will say that both my cars drive fine. The idle has never seemed to affect the car and it idles fine with the AC on so I don't worry with it. But both tunes...
I assume you are talking about the 96-98 mod motors? If so, I was told by a tuner years ago it as due to the wasted spark ignition. He didn't explain why and I didn't ask him to elaborate. I guess I should have. lol
the frames are the same. Headrest and power seat controls are different. I have 04 Mach 1 seats (frames) with 03/04 Cobra style TMI upholstery in my 98 Cobra. But a GT seat will work. Just gotta swap the electrical connector for power controls on and New Edge style seat.
Just a SPEC Stage 1. All was SPEC except for the TOB and I only use the Ford HD TOB. Like I said, bad experience for me. I have friends that went with SPEC and had no issues in their stangs. I went with the Stage 1 Mcleod in the GT and it was great. Even handled the power of a Procharger. Now I...
Years before I tried a SPEC in my wife's 02 GT. Bad experience for me. Real loud and hard pedal feel for just a stock type clutch. Went to McLeod and the difference was quite noticeable. Been using McLeod ever since with same success.
I'm in the same boat as you. My wife's is 03 Cobra is much faster than my 98. lol. But that will change soon. I've been collecting parts over the past decade to build a C headed forged bullet with a single turbo. She and I can't wait to get started on it.

It was either SB or MC. We looked at a MC that was near mint but she said she just wasn't feeling it. I said well just hold your judgement until we find a SB and then you can make a decision. We found one local to look at. She instantly feel in love with it when the sun hit the blue and put a...
Well, my wife bought herself a 03 Cobra as a gift back in 2009 after she had been working a few years in nursing. She drove it for awhile is stock trim then came to me one day. She handed me her credit card and I said what's up. She said she raced a Corvette on the way to work and almost lost. I...
We could start a long discussion on the 4 valve mod motor engines that Ford produced over the years. To keep it short, all 96-98 Cobra engines came from factory with a 8 bolt (flywheel mounting bolts. easiest way to identify} forged crank made by Kellogg. The Lincoln Mark 8 shared the same...
Yea, it looks like a factory untouched bottom end. Doesn't look terribly bad for its age. The crank looks to be forged and not a a cast 6 bolt unit out of Lincoln Mark 8. Looks like the engine maybe suffered some extended oil change intervals. The cams look factory. The crud on the intake...
There's a small possibility you have a gold mine there. It could have forged rods and pistons already stuffed in it. We'll know when you tear it down. You can easily cross reference the cam numbers on Google and be able to find out exactly what you have.
