  • hey, sorry but i must have deleted them. basically what i did was put a big metal rod in a vise and slipped the spring over it. one end of the spring needs to be held against the vise or something. i put vise grips on the other end and compressed the 2 ends close together and wrapped stainless wire around both to hold them together making sure the wire was clear from the ends of the spring where they engage. i put the spring in and cut the wire.

    Btw, i had to remove the cable again recently and what i did was pull the cable off where it tees from the ebrake to the 2 separate cables. i forget exactly how i did it but you have a lot more room to get leverage at that point. it was easy compared to removing the springs at the wheels.     I just read your post about the e brake spring. I did the mistake of removing the passenger side. :/
