Mods are in my signature.

Current exhaust is stock minus the cats. I'm running about 650 whp and working with Lidio over at Alternative.

Once spring hits, I'm going to have him put in the new rear end and will most likely go with 3.73s.

I'm also going to talk with him about what it would take to get my car up to and hopefully a bit over 700whp.

First of all, is that safe (relatively speaking, I know more HP is always a risk) for a stock motor?

Also, based on my current bolt ons, I thought an exhaust upgrade would help get me there.

I'm thinking an axle back just isn't enough? Should I go headers, exhaust and mufflers?

If so, any thoughts on brand/value? I'd like my car louder than it is now, but not obnoxious where I can't have a conversation with someone in my car for example.

I know it's still mid February but I'm chomping at the bit for some warm weather and have been watching a lot of videos.

One exhaust sound I like is the Corsa Xtreme. It's loud but doesn't seem as loud as the Borla Atak.

Back in the day when I had my Fox body 5.0, I put a flowmaster exhaust on it and I always loved that sound.

TIA!

I believe the Corsa muffler is the best, because there is no drone in the car and you can talk. Now with the LT Headers the noise is going to get louder over the stock manifolds regardless of who's mufflers you install, so I'd opt for the Corsa Sports to try to limit the level of noise as much as possible. Headers I'd do American Racing Header AHR 1 7/8" with an X-pipe and no Cats, I'd also add the mid-pipe in 3", but see if they'd sell it without the mufflers.

I understand the chomping at the bit part. I just started getting my ‘14 ready for this spring and I get it.
Lots of questions there.
First 750-800rwhp is safe if you respect the octane and RPM limits (recommend 6500rpm shifts if pushing that 750-800rwhp limit.
Second great idea on the gears. That will feel like you added power so you may want to wait to get used to the car with the gears and current power before adding more.
Third on exhaust you can make 1000hp thru the stock mufflers and Lidio and I proved it on my car :) The stock mufflers sound the best so you have a decent set up there unless you just want louder.
Until your ‘13-14 has gears and drag radials you have no idea how much better it is than the stock 3.31 BS

I’ve got Corsa Xtreme’s on my 13. I’ve got the stock resonator delete, with cats. I’d say it’s not bad at idle or even cold starts. However at anything past 3k it opens up it seems. Sounds amazing though.
Those are nice with cats.
I’ve never personally ran Corsa but would consider.

Thanks and hopefully I see you at Lidio's.

I'm sure you know he's out for a bit.

When you say respect the octane, are you saying to make sure I always use a certain octane level of fuel? Like 93?

I do like the sound of the stock mufflers, but would like it a bit louder and more aggressive.

It's hard to tell on the videos, but I like the sound of the Corsa Xtreme's better than the Borla Atak.

I have the ARH 1-7/8 LT header with H-pipes (No Cats) and Corsa Sport mufflers. There is no drone in the car and you can talk while normal driving. But once WOT that is loud and the Corsa Extreme is much more louder.

I am in Metro Detroit area but not sure have we met before.

Thanks for the info.

Don't believe we've met. I live in Rochester Hills.

Corsa Xtremes with a OFR X pipe sounds killer

Maybe consider the Ford racing axle back, it also sounds great with a OFR X-pipe

if you do headers with corsa xtremes, it get pretty damn loud

Awesome video, thanks! I really like the sound of the Ford Racing axle back.

I'm thinking if I do a different exhaust, I should do headers for maximum HP?

Headers will make a big difference, especially in power, the Ford racing axle sounds amazing IMO.
I ran them on my current GT500 with ARH headers and a OFR X-pipe

most people will be recommending whats on their car, you just have to grab some sound clips of what your want, and run with it .

let me know if we can help with a system

I don't think anyone would go to the extremes of my own exhaust set up. 2" ARH LT with 4" collectors with 4" oval pipe to the rear axle 3" over the axle to Corsa Sport mufflers and 2 60mm Tial wastegates that open at 6 psi of boost after the 4" crossover pipe. No drone while cruising, but extremely loud when you step on it LOL

The picture shows a 2 1/2'" crossover pipe that has been replaced with a 4" oval pipe.

I have same setup and agree.
Sounds pretty tame for what it is under 3K. Above that, and you're waking up the ancestors lmao.

If you don't mirror @Bad Company and her setup, your doing it all wrong.

I'm thinking if I do a different exhaust, I should do headers for maximum HP?

Install 2 NOS bottles and forgo headers for maximum horsepower

I run American Racing headers, Off road H and Borla Super Snake catback.
It's the best

Thanks for the vote in confidence in my exhaust extremes. So far I believe it has helped with max Hp at high RPM. The idea was to have as close to as free of an exhaust system that a set of open headers provides, yet retain an exhaust to fool the LEOs while driving by them sedately into thinking the car has a full exhaust system under it. Doing the math to calculate area of the 4" pipe versus the 3" pipe with the dumps open brings the complete area to the tail pipe to almost the same cross sectional area measurement of a 4" exhaust to the rear of the car. Take into the effects of the fact the exhaust gases are losing heat from the collector to the tail pipe and the velocity of the gases should similar to the end of the tail pipes also. I really was striving for the results of a short 18" long 4" pipe after the collectors. It is close with the power numbers climbing all the way to 7700 in the last dyno run with this set up.

Once I have the car back from Texas with the MoTec installation and tuning taking place over the winter I'll get a sound clip of it
