My car does the exact same thing.
Really? That's reassuring, I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem until now. My valvetrain seem noisy too, but I feel that the BBK headers create some of the sound. I've heard this from others.

Yep, my 89GT started doing this when I switched from the factory cam to the E303 cam. I also had 3:55's in it and when it was in gear and at lower RPMs it would buck. I just made sure I kept the RPMs up or just threw it in neutral and coasted to a stop.

If you're looking for a Fox specific ECU system I think Mega Squirt makes a kit. I think LMR has it and has a video on it.

I never knew Holley made a Fox Body specific ECU. I'm running the Holley Terminator X on my 65. I'm pretty sure it would work on the Fox Body as well. When I was going through my Terminator X hand held for the initial set up on my 65 the Ford 19, 24 and 36 pound injectors were listed.

If my Fox Body ECU ever goes out I will look at getting one of the above. I like the Terminator X. Have had very good results using it on my 65.

Good to know, mine also has the e303 cam.

The Holley was the Terminator X. Included all the fox specific wiring...

I really wish I would have kept the Holley ECU kit that I had. It was 500-937F and Holley doesn't make the fox specific kit anymore....

This car runs pretty good for having a hci combo without a custom tune. But it runs pretty rich. Maybe it's because it doesn't have catalytic converters, but it will make my eyes burn.

It does idle perfect. One thing that's always bothered me with this car is it will buck and shake at lower rpms in a slightly higher gear. My mechanic friend says it's because I'm "lugging" the motor. I've never dealt with that before.

He stated a steeper rear gear than the 3:55's might help. I always assumed it's a clutch or transmission issue...

I've also wanted to get rid of the c&l maf sensor and install a pro m. But I'm not sure that would change anything.

This site shows it's in stock along with the custom piece that was created to wire it all into the factory gauges and whatnot for a fox.

This looks to be a new kit that Anderson came up with after Holley discontinued the fox kit.

I'll have to research it some, thanks for finding this!

No worries, I know Danny (the guy behind MF Kustoms) has put a ton of work into that and has some pretty kick ass builds of his own too.

Oh really keep talking. I'm interested
Here's the IG for his Carbon business. He just started building stuff mainly for SN95 cars at this point, but since he couldn't find anyone to produce carbon parts at the quality he demands he bought a Carbon Fiber business to make it himself.

Here's his IG for his mustang building business and he's currently building my car. Most of the cars on this IG are his own unless otherwise specified, all built and painted by him.

Here's his post of my car back when he first got a hold of it. My car's IG is @stangalang_tx if you want to follow that build. Updates are kinda slow for now as priming and blocking all looks the same.

I have my HCI setup on the stock A9L. It doesn't lug, but it's rich. If it's a cool day, i can drive around fine all day but if it's HOT, it loads up with fuel and will stall out at a light. I need to restart it by depressing the gas pedal (flood clear mode).

I'm picking up one of those Megasquirt plug and play units in the spring and tuning with that.

My 86, which I bought new and had 2.73's stock, could be lugged down to virtually idle, and still pull in 5th gear with no anomalies. Obviously it was slow as heck to do that (and probably not good for cylinder pressures), but the EFI system itself, had ZERO issues handling that on a stock SD 5.0HO.

I do have the direct plug in EEC-IV megasquirt. Haven't used it yet, but probably will at some point, as several well known EEC-IV tuners have not been able to tune my setup fully, with the 1/4 horse and stockish EFI setup.

I'm curious about that setup, most people are recommending the Terminator X kit. I'd really like to drive the notch more.

I think the learning curve on Megasquirt is a little steeper, but the initial cost is a bit cheaper (not by much when you add in the wifeband) than Holley. I also like some of the digital dash interfaces available for the MS3 system. Really comes down to what you prefer and are more comfortable with. If you don’t want to mess around, Holley will probably get you up and running the quickest. They really did a good job with making it easy for the user to tune.

I’ve played around a bit with MS and know a few folks who tune them. I like what I can do with the system.

Also, I went through my engine harness with a fine tooth comb and reloomed and verified all connections. The Holley comes with its own harness, which is a plus if your engine harness is suspect.

I’ll be ordering this at some point later this spring. I’m just too busy playing with my SN95 but that project is pretty much almost done.

I haven’t decided if I’ll go as far as doing the digital dash. I like the old-school look of the stock fox cluster. Not sold on the modern look….yet.

So the vert also has rusty looking BBK headers and they look horrible. I have a new ceramic coated BBK set. I just hate working on exhaust....

Equal length shortys? That’s what I have on mine. Ceramic coated. I don’t mind the BBK stuff on the Fox body but won’t ever use it on anything else after fitment issues when I had my 01 Cobra before my terminator.

No these are unequal length shortys. I'm with you on only using them on foxes. I should probably wait until I can use the lift....

Edit: the ones on the car almost look like 1 3/4". But it could just be my eyes.

What were the issues you had with them? I need a set of long tubes for my fox that I'm putting a 97 4V in but I'd really prefer not to spend $2k on headers when the BBK ceramics are like $800.

I had BBK unequal. They fit fine but rusted out.

Ended up replacing them with JBA Ceramics. They look just as they did when I installed them 2-3 years ago, although I admit they don't have a hell of a lot of run time. I drive this car maybe 10-20 miles a year.

What gaskets did you end up using? I'm looking at some Percy gaskets.

I've been battling a really stiff clutch pedal lately in my 92 coupe. I've pretty much checked off everything other than the bearing retainer. I pulled the T5 yesterday and I think I found the issue. I'm pretty sure the retainer is OEM and galled up pretty bad, not sure what material it is but my magnet definitely doesn't stick. The transmission is also the original based on the partial VIN stamp, the old gal is still kicking after 209K miles. The trans still works, but it is loose and sometimes slips out of gear. I think I might bite the bullet and look at a T5Z.
