If you got a stretch of road that aint busy with some place to pull over it works just as good... All it takes is a 1-4 gear pull. Cheapest way to go. Its hard to get that in the city though.
Yeah, that's the problem. It's very hard to even get a clean 2nd gear pull in NYC. There are 25mph limits and cameras everywhere. It sucks around here.

A dyno doesn't place enough stress on the engine like the real world does.

Plenty of people make xxxxHP on the dyno and have to pull timing when they go to tune it at the track.

It'll get you in the ballpark... but on the aggressive side.

If you have the tune file Pm me. I can add some spark retard and take out a degree or two for you.

Probably a wise choice, I don't think I've seen anyone running more than 19-20 degrees on a pump gas tune. When I had my car tuned at 18psi and 91 octane, he only wanted to put 15 degrees timing on it. I have methanol injection and I'm confident in it's ability to suppress knock so my tuner left the timing advance unlocked in the tune so I could experiment on my own. Currently I have it set to 19 degrees but I'd really like to get it on a dyno to see if there's any difference from 17-19 degrees.
