So sorry to see the damage and hear it is probably totalled. Does your insurance cover it, or are you S.O.L.?

I recently switched my insurance company. I believe my previous policy covered 'non competitive' track events, but I didn't confirm this detail when I switched.

Word to the wise:
More insurance policies are excluding any motorsport activity, check your policy before participating. Special track insurance is available but is extremely expensive. (I saw a quote of $700/day!)

Our daily (original owners) , '12 Escape, 2.5L 4 cyl, AWD. Just spent $1400 at local Ford dealership who performed routine maintenance, front brakes/rotors, cooling/tranny/transfer/brake/rear end fluids, etc.

Sprayed the engine bay with Simple Green earlier this spring.

Just got done with the following:
- Wizards Wash
- Cerakote Trim Wipes
- Nanoskin Clay Toweled
- Griots Ceramic 3in1 Wax
- Griots Ceramic Speed Shine
- Kirkland Microfiber Towels

Can't say enough good things about all these products.

Suprised the rear rockers aren’t rusted out. We had a 12 in steel blue XLT started rusting bad we got rid of it.

Too lazy to look for the truck thread right now. Prob my last mods till I need some tires, maybe. Lol. Got around to putting 1-1/2 inch leveling spacers in the front, which she sits perfect for me now. Also rear wheel fender liners, and mud flaps.

With bigger tires ditch that air damn I did on my 15 looks so much better without.

It started, but last fall I had "Five Outta Ten Autobody " (me) perform the repairs.
Seam Sealer, POR15, Bondo, and Automotive Touch-Up Paint slowed it enough that I can do it again this fall - lol.

I surprised the wife this evening and picked her up in her 67 fastback. I just changed the oil and been working on it, this was her first ride of the year.

I anticipated her driving it, but she's been drinking wine .

Snapped a picture from the camera monitor. That's me going to pick her up. I did have a Pontiac Fiero try racing us!

Awesome photo man, glad you guys got out and went for a cruise. One of these days I’m gonna make my way up there and I’d love to see those cars in person!

Interesting. Over the months, I've read about a few track mishaps and always wonder if the car owner has to pay for the repairs himself. That makes it potentially an EXPENSIVE hobby.

Yessir. I'm actually feeling lucky that other cars or injuries didn't enter the equation too. The costs could be potentially devastating.

ugh, thats rough man. The only road course things I did in my car previously were set up as driver improvement/car control training and there were no walls thank god. If I did take my current car to a road course I'd just have to take it easy, no willing to pay $700 a day and not willing to wad it up either. Should have picked up a cheap SN95 beater to thrash before prices went stupid.

Forget insurance, either
1- drive what you can afford to wad up
2- buy a real race car they can be rebuilt far easier
3- stay off the track if you don't like risk.

Track insurance is a huge waste of money
