Time to upgrade my rear tires. Looking at going with a drag radial. Currently have Michelin pilot sport 4s but they will not hookup in 1 or 2nd gear. Even at 3rd if i nail the throttle they spin. Currently sitting at about 620hp to rear and 610tq. But thats about to go up when smaller whipple pulley arrives and just added long tubes. Looking at the toyo proxes r888r, nitto nto1, and mt et street ss. Stock sized rims so 285 35 19. Eventually will go with wider rims for a beefier tire.

With that said i still have some suspension stuff i need to do. Upper lower control arms and panhard bar will be coming this summer. Might do sway bars as well. The car is already lowered and already did the shocks and struts. I do drive it almost every day. Guess my biggest concern in w how fast the r compound tires would last?

I think most in drag go with Aldo brand

I kid, I kid. I’ve liked the proxes. I have a set on my afs wheels and they seem to hold well.

Ive used Nitto NT555R, and Mickey Thompson decent results. I recently purchased the NT555RII, but I haven't mounted them yet. I use them on the street and with most drag radials, traction depends on how warmed up they are. They don't work well in cooler conditions. I'm at about 650ish to the wheel and can drop it into second and floor it at a 40 roll with decent traction on a warm day, but that was with 345s lol. First and second from a dig will still produce plenty of spin.

A lot also depends on how much air PSI you run the rears at.

The 345s rubbed (but they looked bad ass ). I run a 315 now.

So it's a little more complicated than just running drag radials. You're rear suspension set-up will affect traction also.

I've had the R compound tires last anywhere from 5000-8000 miles

Nitto 555's well on my car, but depends on future power level and how much you drive the car.

End goal w power is about 680-700. Im in vegas so its always warm/hot w nice weather. Drive the car almost everyday cuz its always nice out. Suspension was going to happen before the power gains but i had a cat break on me and had to upgrade w long tubes so might as well get it tuned once w new pulley on there. Drive it about 5-6k miles a year.

I’ve run the RII’s. Got those on the foxbody my brother in law owns. I’ve got Nexen Sur4G Drag Radials. I don’t get much spin, and they come in stock size. Buying them for our hellcat too. 275/40/20.

Nitto NT555RII 305/35R19. At 700+ RWHP, 1st gear has some grip but still breaks loose; 2nd gear will dead hook on a good road in warm weather, stock 3.31 rear gears. I run my rear tires at 30 psi to retain some sidewall strength. The best good weather muscle car tires I have had on this car.

Ok ordered nitto 555rII. Should have them on the car the 1st. Thanks for all the help. Heard mt street ss hook pretty good but have a shitty ride quality. Lets see how the nittos do.

Lca uca phb will all help plant the power. MPS4S are pretty good street tires still for the mid 600s range but suspension setup plays a good deal. Smart move jumping on getting these done. You’ll like the drags too, don’t look back.

Great choice!
I prefer 26-28pisi cold and adjust as needed for traction and handling.

Discount tire near my house said they can get them within 5 days. Also found them on ebay and few other places. Went with close to me as they can install them for me and warranty them.

Good luck there. I've had mine on order with them for weeks (granted coming from the west coast to PA) and they just got one the other day and don't know when the other is coming in, lol.
