... for our 96-98 Cobras compared to the centrifugal superchargers, is it the fact that the KB is not intercooled so boost is limited?

I also saw some old threads that might have mentioned inlet restrictions?

I know that the KB doesn't produce big numbers out of the box, but my car will be a driver, not a racer, so I like the idea of the low end provided by a twin screw supercharger. That being said, I'd like to have more potential than 375-400 rwhp.

Trying to figure out what else I'd need to do to produce more than 400 rwhp with the KB and whether its feasible.

It’s all about the intercooler.
KB will have high IATs if no cooler.
Now if you can run E85, you’ll be able to tolerate higher IATs but still not as good as a cooler.
What fuel?
What goals?

Thanks for the quick response!

Makes sense on intercooler, and I think I've understood that there's no off the shelf solution. I don't see running E85 being an option.

Goals: reliable street car to drive 2-3 days a week... I think I'd be happy with the base KB for a while... but I've been down this path enough to know that I'll want more, probably 600-700+ rwhp. I know that forged rods/pistons would be needed along with a beefed up transmission. But back to the KB, is getting to 600-700 rwhp realistic in a non-intercooled set-up, and/or are there intercooled options that aren't custom?

- no intercooler
- no integrated bypass valve
- no IAT sensor after blower
- inlet restrictions
- 6-rib pulley (well maybe not KB to blaim, but ford)But back to the KB, is getting to 600-700 rwhp realistic in a non-intercooled set-up

Aggressive cams, E85, engine bored to 5.0l, nitrous and you should be in 6xx range ;) No but seriously, i agree with @98 svt , if goal more than 450, go turbo.
