This is a good example

I wish I could find an old Honda/Acura that wasn't molested and wasn't overpriced. I'd daily the living daylights out of it.

No, it was the last year of TBI on the small block where they ran with smaller TBI injectors than prior years with slightly increased fuel pressure. Because of this, the motor runs like dog shit and has a GIANT flat spot right where you dont want it in a truck--about 2000 rpm.

Round nose GMs you want a 88-94 or 96-99... no 95's lol

The spider injection from 96-99 has its own set of issues (the injector itself leaks or fails, intake mani gaskets), but power delivery is not one of them. Those motors run strong.
