Was the TV damaged?

No visible damage. The back of the tv was on the side of the punched hole. I haven't hooked it up yet.

I was working in the garage when the UPS driver handed me the package. He gave it to me with the "good" side showing. I didn't see the hole until I walked back in the garage and he was gone. He knew the box was damaged.

Shit happens, I get it. Its a $79 tv from Best Buy. If the tv works, no worries. If it had been on the other side, probably would have damaged the screen. No protection there. Just expanded polystyrene at top/bottom.

$1500 just for the tailight assembly
$10,000 estimate + 4 weeks to fix + rental + diminution to value

Since we're sharing....

March this year - USPS steals my package. Forges my signature. Package nowhere to be found. My wife confronts mail carrier, records interaction, says 'my husbands signature was forged' - she goes 'YEAH I DID THAT CUZ COVID' (wrong, they're not supposed to do that). Wife says 'that's funny cuz we dont have the package'

few hours later random sketchy ass dude shows up on my porch and guess what he drops off? My package. Ah, so that's who mail lady is ****in. Tight.

October this year, I get home from work, and check mailbox. Mailbox looks like a riot grenade went off inside it. Entire thing leaning, tons of damage to box itself. WTF? I spend 45 minutes outside with pliers and a hammer bending it back right so it will ****ing close and my HOA doesnt cry at me. I make formal complaint with USPS, local supervisor calls me and assures me it will never happen again.

This past week, my wife has been trying to send out paperwork for her job for almost a week now, and I have it ON CAMERA where she puts flag down, and stuffs inbound mail on top of outbound letter? Can only assume this is retribution. At this point I've threatened to go to media with it, can you imagine 'USPS Worker FORGES CUSTOMER SIGNATURE AND STEALS PACKAGE, tonight at 6.' I made complaint last night and talked to supervisor today on it. Will talk again tomorrow 'after they investigate'

Needless to say my local postmaster has gotten to know me VERY well. :)

Those bitches make good money for sitting on their fat ass and driving SOMEONE ELSES VEHICLE around all day. FOH with that.

We never mail stuff from our house mailbox. I always take it onto town and drop.

Couple years ago I was at a local Napa grabbing some maintenance stuff. FedEx driver pulls up to the curb, jumps out, and runs into the store to drop off whatever it is. Suddenly there's a loud crash and everyone turns around to look out of the big windows to see the FedEx van parked squarely in the back of the S10 that was already parked there. Apparently the driver forgot to put it in park before he jumped out. And with about 10 witnesses he had no chance. I made sure my number was on Napa's copy of the receipt just in case.

I avoid mailing things out period. If something has to be mailed I go to UPS.

My wife does use USPS and to be fair it's been working good. But we drop off the packages at a USPS store either in the mailbox inside or if that is locked on a counter inside. She gets emails with tracking numbers from them.

She's been selling her old clothes on Poshmark and doing really well with it. I take photos of the packages if I leave them on the countertop. There's cameras there also so I am not really worried about the packages disappearing. And they are not high dollar items.

So much for my good luck, FedEx just lost a bunch of our deliveries going to Canada. From what I can tell, the small parcel companies are hurting. UPS are driving rental trucks (U-Haul, Penski, etc) trucks around. They're even found deliveries in personal vehicle now).
