Can the average person install a Megasquirt / MS3Pro.
I know I would not even want to read all of this.
How to MegaSquirt Your Modular Motor Powered Mustang - DIYAutoTune.com

I easily installed my Holley myself and had the car running without help. I even had most of my stock gauges working.

You don't have to do all that. That's for the hardcore who want to do from scratch. You can just download a base tune that's setup for your car. You do need to wire up your injectors, coils and IAT motor. Can all be done right at the stock ECU location for ease.

Even better they now have a plug and play ECU they've developed. You just swap out the stock ECU with the MS3 ECU. It even drives the factory gauges like a stock car. That unit is not available just yet, only to their testers. They've released some teaser videos of it in action. I think they're targeting July / August time frame release if I'm remembering correctly.

EDIT: I looked closer, that link you posted is not even relevant. That's for converting older Megasquirt boards to work with a distributor less ignition. If you buy any one of their MS3Pro units made in the last 6 or 7 years none of that applies.

MS had come a long way. I remember when they first came on the scene. The first thread on the turbo forums.com was a riot. Everyone thought it was NSFW porn lol.

Before the plug and play it was a hassle. Had to pin out everything. That’s great they’ve handled that now.

I am very happy with my Holley system. When we installed it and the new engine back in 2016, we had the car running in a weekend with it. It was the system I was waiting all this time for. Everything is integrated into one box, it's really just a fantastic product. Eventually I will upgrade to a Dominator which will plug right in with no other changes, but the HP has gotten me very far. For a mostly street car, it's just fine.

With the Holley HP, I have the following:
Inputs:
Front Wheel Speed
Rear wheel speed (traction control)
Scramble button
2-step, rolling anti-lag

Outputs:
IAC (This will free up when I move to LS style TB)
2nd fuel pump
Fan
Boost Control (mph based)

I have a very good tuner who helps me with this car and we recently laid down 1346whp and you simply cannot do that safely without an aftermarket computer. With the traction control and mph based boost control, this thing is an absolute monster on the street. It is by far the best money I have ever spent on this car. If you have a 4-digit build and are wondering if this system is for you, it is. Sell or don't buy the big money high impedance injectors, sell your MAF, sell your tuner and save the rest of the pennies you need to buy it. You will be money ahead when your engine stays alive. Mine is 4 seasons now on the same one at above 4 digit power.

Bring this thing up, im about to install holley terminator x with possibly 6.8 screen. It's is going on my 99 cobra.

My questions:

- What are you guys doing about the radiator fan? Any way to tap in to the ccrm to control them?

- What do you do with the alternator to keep charging?

- what do you guys do about fuel level?

Yes I ran a wire from holly to the ccrm which was a ground trigger for the relay to trigger the fan. Very easy
- What do you do with the alternator to keep charging?
I run the 99 cobra/Mach alternator and it’s a 3 wire plug from left to right I put a 840 resister inline from the stock harness the center wire is unused and ran another wire off the far right directly to a 12v source. But I idk if your running my style or a factory location 03/04 alternator.
- what do you guys do about fuel level?
I have the 12.3 pro dash in my car and I ran the stock lvl sender wire to the dash and got it working. Holley has a specific input in the dash just for fuel level sending units. After you get it wired you go into the dash and can configure everything works really good
