Where did you find the Shelby 1000 hood?
Since I have been hunting for a 1000 hood for awhile and I'm on IG and Facebook I found a few guys that had replica 1000 hoods made by a fiberglass shop in Puerto Rico, the Shops name is JC S Fiberglass, they gave me the owners contact information, I found out he has a legit Shelby1000 hood from Shelby American that he replicates the hoods from.Ditto.
Funny thread bump from the 2 guys I was just going to text about finding an S1000 hood.
I know it’s frustrating Steve but it’ll be worth it.
If it helps anything it’s happen to many people (the crazy parts delays)

After looking at the hoods made by him and the guys telling me how they fit like OEM I decided to call him up, the price of the hood was 1,400 plus shipping. It's a little expensive, but still cheaper than what Shelby American was charging. He's in the process of building it right now, he sent me a few pictures of it yesterday, it looks great so far.
The cams took almost 5 months to make from Comp Cams, JDM told me they had finally got them the middle of October. I was pretty annoyed about that. But it was completely out of there control and I understand that. But after talking with them they had said they hope to have the engine finished up by early November and have it sent back to me, I email them yesterday and they said it won't be finished till the end of November or later, I don't understand what's taking so long now, but it's annoying, especially since the engine was supposed to finished by late August, than September, than October than November and now it's looking like December. I get I'm not there only customer and I am understanding of that, but I did spend a lot of money with them and I want the engine back. I know once I start the car up with the new engine I'll forget about now long it took.Sorry to hear about the delays. What parts are causing this? Still the cams? Either way, I’m sure the negative experience will quickly be forgotten when you fire it up for the first time, and leave some long black stripes on the Phoenix roads… while most of our cars are hibernating in garages covered in snow!
