I work in the streets and take lanes out for the maintenance I perform. I see near misses like that all the time. I don’t feel sorry for those people one bit. Just drive like a normal person and shit like that won’t happen to you.

I did for 22 years with close to 1.75M miles, most hauling petroleum products.

When you're carving through lanes and cutting over into tiny holes at the last minute, you're reducing your margin of safety. A very small misjudgement with no margin for error and your luck can run out. As seen here.

Should’ve downshifted from 12th gear into 8th and hit the nawz

Watched it again and I think I saw him braking towards end of the video, maybe he was looking for spot wide enough to pullover and stop.

Yea I saw that too. It seems like he saw what was going on in the mirror and was just looking for a safe place to stop

I was wondering the same thing. Did the driver survive, or was he killed? That was one hell of a wreck.

I see drivers around here do all kinds of dangerous, stupid stuff on the freeways. Their don't-give-a-shit-about-anyone-else attitude prompts them to change lanes with inches to spare between them and the car their cutting off. And I always say afterwards, "one of these days it will catch up to them".

I drive for a living and that doesn't surprise me at all !! Texting, applying makeup, 3 lane changes with no turn signal, swerving over yellow lines, etc etc, the only reason why I don't have a motorcycle
