I am just making this build thread to obtain feedback as I go. It looks like the car enthusiasm is dying somehow so I have another site where I do the same. My plans are slow but steady trying to build the car one section at a time but currently I am very troubled with the desires of slapping a KB 4.2L in my stock engine so I figure if that the rout I will take to at least ensure the best outcome by upgrading the cooling and fuel in the car and not revving it much. For now I will continue upgrading the car in this order; rear end, transmission, suspension, fuel system, engine, and finally the blower.

Please let me know what you all think of doing a full return system with high octane (C16 or E85 if available) and installing the 4.2L. I am not planning to rev the car pass 6200rpm or boost anymore of what the lowest it can be which I believe is 19-20psi.

I have a tentative build list below for reference that I hope to be able to complete by the end of 2023.

E85 all the way...... if access is no issue. When motor is built 4.7 kb is more efficient than a 4.2 imo. Thats going to be one nice build when completed and very well thought thru (y)

Very nice.
Definitely E85, but I would replace the built 8.8 with a strange 9" rear. Even more no brainer with drag racing involved.

That's an expensive build list, but you can't go wrong with a KB, I had a 3.6KB with full ARH exhaust on E85 and it made 827whp

Plus they sound killer even at idle. Whipple may perform just as well but KB for the sound win.
And man Steve I’d love to find a CF rad cover like that!

Holy crap, that is one of the extensive/expensive build lists I'm seen. You're as serious as a heart attack about your build. LOL!

With the large upgrade in power and even somewhat the weight reduction you plan on, I would reconsider the 4.10 gear set. I just recently got a set and they make the car so much better on the street. Absolutely recommend them for a stock 13-14. But if your adding a lot of power, I would think you would want 3.55's or 3.73's at most. Look into what the the 2012's are running at your power level, I think (not sure) that the

more closely matches the transmissions gear rations in those cars.

This list will certainly keep your enthusiasm high for the time being...

def would do e85. i lean toward whipple or vmp on the s/c though from a customer service stand point.

the support from both of those companies is 50 times better than what you will get out of kb, just food for thought. if we can help with anything don't hesitate to ask

:)

I been getting a lot of my parts from your company boss!! I am just closing on a house this month and I need to do a few financial changes to be setup for this built. I am just collecting all the parts for now. That is why I have some items listed that might go or not into the build like the 4.10s. I already have the gears so I will have to either sell or install and see how the car runs.

E85 is the goal but here in Fort Walton Beach we don’t have any pumps. I will be willing to buy my drums and keep it at home but I have to also think about the car usage. I only drive the car in the weekends and sometimes it stays stored for 2-3 weeks.

Additionally I see a lot of Whipple recommendations but the only unit I was considering was the new Gen 5 3.8. The issue is that I saw talks about this unit failing at high boost levels (exploding). And I do have a crush on KB specially that big boy 4.2L

That blower alone puts 19-20 psi at its lowest and I believe on stock engine it will be right in the 800whp range alone
