Wife and I were driving back on Route 1 from a day in Mystic when this ass-hat blew by us on his motorcycle. Weaving in and out of traffic (35mph zone) at maybe 50-60. Less than 5 minutes later I see this thug with his bike down along the curb. Apparently he lost control and hit the curb, pretty much ripping the whole side trim off his bike. He wasn't apparently hurt and no other vehicles were involved, but his bike was a mess. As we passed by, it looked like he was going to try to carry it under his arm and drive away. The piece ripped off looked to be at least 4' X 2'. Idiot! Karma can be a bitch!

Went for a 5,000 mile Western drive when I visited my son at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. Drove from Sauk Rapids, MN to Whidbey Island NAS, WA to Las Vegas, NV to Rapid City, SD then home. Some other intermediate stops along the way for rest. The mountains out West are great. Driving down Eastern NV was stark and beautiful. So many great vistas on the trip. Glad to be home now. Bonus points to you if you know where the pic was taken!

Those Mopar guys have rubbed off on some of the imports. I see some of the local ones rolling around with their splitters painted yellow like the Mopar covers. Not beat up old cars either- one was a new Supra.

I didn't beep, but....I did smile.

We like the Mystic area. We try to get there a few times each summer for the day. I need an excuse to drive 60 minutes to eat at S&P Oyster Restaurant. Oh yeah!!

Anyone building a home/know the time it takes to get impact windows? And from MI(window builder) at that

We are looking at a 6m month wait for windows(December delivery), that were supposedly ordered in June.

damn, long wait but not surprising anymore. I ended up deciding if I was gonna do anything I'd just get shutters and bought off the shelf windows

Parts that come from Asia are totally disrupting anything to do with housing. MN window makers are badly affected by this.

Yea. We have 11 windows, seem pretty standard size wise. The builder is doing another house down the way and they got non impact windows in 2 weeks ago. Windows were supposedly ordered at same time for both houses.

I believe it. Contractor said something to the effect of some type of resin being hard to get for impact.

Just don't know if the builder is telling truth on reason for delay. The builder sent out chain emails regarding the online portal for house progress being down due to a glitch but our project manager telling us that was a lie and that the PMs wanted portions of the portal taken down.
I know a few new homes near my rental have gotten impact and they started even sooner than my build.

The builder I used for the addition I started this spring and finished a few weeks ago is telling people to expect 1 year for for completion instead of his old normal of 3 to 4 months.

My nephew had the footings in for his new house done this spring, they just finished framing it late September, it is crazy right now.

I'm just finishing up a $55k bathroom right now. The client and I waited for everything to come in stock before we even started. Almost everything was delayed.
Cabinets
Granite
Wall tile
Floor tile
Shower fixtures etc.

Hippie wife went mushrooming this weekend and through today. Me and the boys roll our eyes at the thought of eating them. Well after our education on selection and harvesting we caved in. We all wanted seconds and the one today truly tasted like chicken and the nutrients are astounding. The first picture is the plated (chicken of the woods ) and the following are chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, puff balls, and bolet.

Last is the Hickory nuts she roasted. I'm telling you the Indians ate well.
