I’m looking for a good shock/strut/spring combo for my 1997 Cobra vert to get by with until a later time where I can comfortably put money into a coil over kit, which will probably after my lady gets her Charger. So here’s where I’m at, I have selected KONI Sport Adjustables (yellow) for the front and rear but I’m not sure which spring to go with. At the moment, I drive it daily even if it’s down the street to the store, it doesn’t go very far. I do however have occasional drives with the Mrs and 2 kids so I know Sportlines are out of the question but does anybody have any helpful info on Vogtland springs?

The spring rate for the Vogtland is noted somewhere in a spring rate sticky.

The poster was ?Starnskey?
You have SRA, so your rear spring rate might be different for that Vogtland set.

I think the Vogtlands are near the HR sports rates, but I am not sure.

Others with better info and that particular combo will chime in.

I used to run H&R SS. It sat nice and low and the ride wasn't bad at all with a set of Tokico blues.
I'd go with the H&R Sports since the SS are probably too low for you

I appreciate the assistance my friend. I’ve been out of the Mustang game for many many years so that now, having a vert, I would just like a nice low, stiff, much better handling than stock. The streets here in Mesa suck ass, the occasional pot hole jumps out of nowhere at ya and the pavement leveling is like it was done by an elementary schooler. I can’t wait to move down to Gilbert where everything is better. Ideally, I’d like my car to be no more than 2 inches lower with shock absorption in the rear to be as good as KONI makes their sport shock sound. Are the OE quad shocks useful in this equation?

eibach prokit with Koni yellow or bilstein schocks on all 4 corners.

Had these on my 97 cobra and made for a much better ride and better handling.

Agreed. I have a comparable setup on my 97 Cobra, using FRPP B springs and Bilstein struts, shocks and quads. Ride and handling are much better than original.

Here is my vert on HR super sports with Koni Adjustables, with the upper and lower poly spring isolators in, and steeda balljoints. Also note my 18" wheels and tires are larger diameter then stock. The front does sit pretty low, but overall the ride is great and that is with the konis in the softest setting.

B springs (Eibach) you can get anywhere at a good price. I’ve had that setup on mine since ‘10. Good street spring. Constant rate up front, progressive in the rear.

That stance looks fantastic but with a full car load, I’m sure rubbing would be an issue. Plus, I am looking to add 18 inch Saleens as well. I’ve been pricing gears, shocks/struts, clutch and so on from Americanmuscle.com so if they have a good spring on that site, it would be nice to have them on the same order just that way everything comes around the same time which so far sounds like either Eibach Pro Kit or FRPP B Springs. I’d like to find a reputable site that carries H&R for a good price because what I saw on their site almost doubles what AM had when they stocked them.

I've had 4 adults in the car several times and 0 rubbing. I was looking at HR Sports at first but ultimately decided to go low with the SS. The entire suspension was rebuilt over the winter, wheels are front 18x8.5 with 255/40 tires and Rears are 18x10 with 295/35. I had all kinds of fun ordering parts last winter to find who had what actually in stock which meant ordering from multiple places to complete. I did have Vogtland springs on my Thunderbird SC for years and they were a great spring matched with Koni's.
