I cruise around in the weekends and some times a contender appears at a light or stretch to have fun, when I get my Drag wheel setup I will visit the 1/8 mile track often or every weekend. So I think I’ll give the 4.10s that I have on hand a try first.

Thanks all!!!

I have 4.30s with the close ratio magnum xl. 80mph is 3000 rpm but fuel mileage is still 19+ on the highway. Town is a different story.

Which 6th ratio? Our stock trans and my first Magnum XL were both 0.50 sixth but my current XL is the 0.63 I believe and it’s fine too.
I tried to get a new 0.50 sixth and he told me when he rebuilds it in 2-3 seasons he can simply swap in the 0.50 sixth.
4000# and 1200hp actually drag racing…he said we’ll stay close acquaintances :)

Why is that device for?

Google ‘clutch tamer’.
It’s basically a way to slip the clutch in a repeatable and adjustable way.
To really drag race a high power manual transmission you want a line lock, 2-step, WOT box and shift light in addition to a slipper clutch or device to consistently release a standard style clutch (‘clutch tamer’).
I ran my 9.55 with absolutely no assist devices (except a line lock during the burnout only) but now I’ve achieved that goal I’m going to use all listed above to maximize my 2014 GT500.

I guess one problem with 4.30s is it just spins tires through 2nd and usually 3rd. Difficult to remote tune.
