6500 miles to date. Screen issue has been fixed with a software update. Everything else is doing great. Extremely happy with this truck.

Average MPG is right at 20.8 with a mix of highway, around town and a little bit of towing. Not the 28mpg or so in the Colorado Duramax but its shocking for a 5000lb supercrew truck.

Truck has 8100 miles as of this morning. Been chugging along getting 20.8mpg average mixed highway, city and a little towing.

11215 miles. Stripped wiper arm while driving down the highway. I heard a thunk and then the wiper went far left, got stuck and then far right got stuck and then went back on more time before being abandoned in the middle of the windshield. Passenger side decided it wanted to keep on going.

Pretty sure this has been a problem since day one. Truck has had 3 sets of wipers due to the constant noise they make. Fresh ones get installed and then a couple days later they squeak again.

Now at the dealer for repair. Not happy with basic shit going bad this early on.

Sorry to hear hopefully they fix the root cause of the issue.

Was told yesterday while picking up my loaner that there was a bad run of factory wiper arms? So maybe getting both wiper arms replaced under warranty.

On another note, the 1.0L FWD Ecosport SE loaner feels eerily similar to a Fiesta just a shit ton slower.

Still no truck. Wiper arm has been backordered for a while. I will have an update on the 25th. Ridiculous timeframe for a wiper arm.

It sure is ridiculous, Kevin, but parts availabilities have been hit and miss for months now. The supply chain issues (and outsourced manufacturing) continue to haunt us.

Sucks but true. Although, not hating on the Ecosport at this point. Brings me back to driving the Fiesta every day to work but with heated seats.

Another update.....no word on the wiper arm. Said Ford would update the dealer on 2/10 with an ETA.

Very unhappy at this point. I understand manufacturing delays but this is a $32 part(according to the Ford Parts website) holding me up from using my truck for truck things.

I even asked if they would swap an arm off a truck in stock to get mine back on the road then replace the one on the truck in stock with the arm when it comes in. So far hiccups from the dealers.

Keep enjoying the ecosport. If they uave the truck for a month have them make the payments.

damn, thats what I gonna suggest asking.

If you look at that spline drive is it really any different than whats on previous trucks? even if the length of the arm is off or something seems it'd be better than nothing.

So, seems they did actually update it for the 2021+ MY versus past trucks. The part number is different from the earlier trucks.

I did get the truck back on Friday. While im happy to have it back i am a little worried still that now the passenger side blade is choppy which is the exact symptom of the driver side right before it shredded the splines.

Going to take it back in next week and see if they will replace the passenger side arm due to the noise.

13,100 miles and all is well. Replaced the passenger side wiper arm after seeing the splines look the same as the driver side.

Towing the Elantra down to VIR next Friday for the 12 Hour race. Will update with MPG and how it tows a heavy uhaul trailer and the car. Last time it was a friends trailer which is significantly lighter than the uhaul auto transport.

MPG for the trip to VIR and back was 18.2mpg traveling 60-65mph on average.

With gas prices rising as fast as they are im wondering if i could run E85 with the truck without a tune? There is no flex fuel listed anywhere but MPT and a few other tuners are stating that the factory Gen 2 Ecoboost is capable of E85 stock. Anyone know?

Be careful with that. I can't imagine Ford built a ~40% cushion in that fuel system to account for the added need of using e85---unless they're dual injected.

The new motors aren't dual fuel are they? As in, direct AND port injection similar to the gen 3+ coyote motors.

Gen 2 2.7 and 3.5 and gen 3 5.0 are all dual injection.

Oh shit! Well, there ya go.
From the design aspect it was to ensure caking of the intake valves was reduced. I do not know the overhead for the fuel system even though it is dual fuel.

According to the Ford supplement the Ecoboost isnt E85 compatible.

16318 miles to date. 15k oil change to be done by Thursday. Hoping they will replace passenger side wiper arm at the same time.

Ford did call me to request information on what happened to maybe issue a recall. Saw a blip about it on the news so i guess i contributed to the known issue about the crappy wiper splines from the factory.

Only other gripe is the driver seat bottom feels like it is loose. May have them check it out and see if it can be tightened. If not may need a new seat pan.
