Well damn. Due to the gas leak at the plant and its closure, my dealer called me today after talking to the Ford rep and my order may or may not be good now. I guess it depends on how long this delay is and I'll just have to wait and see what happens. Bummer
They're likely being overly cautious in saying that. I just searched Detroit FP website and it looks like most of it has been diluted. Plus those assigned chips are probably accumulating and they'll be able to ramp right back up. I think your highly profitable for Ford (and the dealer) GT500 will definitely be prioritized. I've got my fingers crossed for you! When does MY21 production end?

Man, that’s a huge bummer. Still, I hope you have your order picked up.
If it gets bumped for this year, will they honor it and help you get a ‘22?
I know Antimatter blue will not be on the ‘22s, but is that a deal breaker?

Ive been told ordering ends Oct 1 but production is supposed to go til Dec 23. Im hoping this is a temporary thing. An article I read today said they were going to try to resume production Sep 20. Im pretty set on this color so I dont know if Id try for a 22 or not, havent thought that far down the line. My dealer said he'll keep pushing to get this through so we'll just wait and see.

I think the biggest determination is how much pull your dealer/regional rep has? @13COBRA may have some insight.
I’m pulling for you, good luck!

I can understand being nervous. Ford is switching these blues every year on these! Anti-Matter is going to be a really special color especially with limited production and 1-year only option. Kona was gorgeous as well. I'm really not feeling Atlas Blue as much as I thought I would. I've seen some Explorers in that color and it's not as beautiful as Deep Impact was.

I think they'll be able to catch up, the rate-limiting factor is the chip availability.

Update:
Ok so a week ago, the dealer that tried to order my car called and said Ford wouldnt take the order now due to time constraints and that they had all the 21 orders they could take/fulfill. So I got back in touch with the out of state dealer that still had the exact car I wanted but they just werent willing to deal. We got to work on the haggling and finally hammered out a deal and I went up there today, bought it, and drove it home. So I got exactly what I wanted at a slightly higher price but way less than what the dealer had it listed at. Once again, its a 21 Antimatter Blue, Recaros, carbon dash, white top/side stripes, tech and handling pkg, and a blue cover. I drove over 500 miles today so Im tired, the car is dirty, but I'll post up pics soon.

My trip home from the selling dealer was a bit over 1,000 miles so I can relate (thanks Nick!). Great way to get a good feel for the car right off the bat. It really is a fantastic touring car, something you don't normally hear about when the popular concern relates to track times.

Looking forward to seeing your car. Congrats.

Congratulations! Good job on *staying* on top of this. No shame in paying a bit more than sticker these days considering the chip shortage. I love that color, I'm a little pissed that it's one year only. Definitely needing more pics of the car!!

Did you even turn on the radio at all?? If so, looking for some feedback.

I love that color and thats why I had to get a 21, its a 1 year only color. So yeah I paid over sticker for the first time ever on a vehicle but I wanted it. All the other cars I got under sticker so I think Im still ahead lol. Honestly, I didnt turn the radio on til the next day and I tried it out in the driveway. On the way home I used the Nav feature and just listened to the engine. From what little I did hear though it sounded great but dont take this review with any weight. Here are a couple pics from this evening.

Red white and blue!
Love the garage pairing man, excellent choices.
I had planned AMB but not in the cards for ‘22. What’s it like in person?

Its a very dark color. Ive had 2 neighbors think it was black but it was cloudy out and they were across the street. When they got closer they could tell it was dark blue. In the sun or under lights, its blue no doubt just a deep blue. I like dark blues though. When I first heard Ford was going to offer Atlas blue on the 22's, I looked it up on Fords site and it looked like a dark blue. However in person, its very similar to Velocity blue, maybe a shade darker.

IMO that's what makes it special. Looks black at some angles, and then you realize it's blue. That's why, for me, dark blue is so cool. Glad that you ultimately found the color you really wanted, and just when it looked like you were out of luck. It ended well for you. Enjoy it!

CobraBob, Thanks and yes thats why I love dark blues. Friends and neighbors that have seen it outside really like the color. Its a very heavy metallic too so when the sun is on it, does it ever pop. Yes Im glad things worked out the way they did.

You should consider having it ceramic coated. The treatment, with polish underneath, will make the metallic pop even more. And you can't beat ceramic's protection qualities.
