New weld rim failure

Just recently had a thread on here deciding to go the 15 inch weld rts in the rear on the 03 and looked amazing. Was looking forward to hitting the track soon only a few days later to find the newly mounted Mickey Thompson looked flat.

Wound up taking back to the shop I ordered through only to find out the rim was leaking air from the inside where it was welded together. Unbelievable on a brand new not to mention very expensive wheel.

Reached out to weld and looks like they want me to ship the rim back for them to inspect not exactly what I was looking to do after a 7 week wait.
Any ideas if this is something at all common or could be resealed. Was looking forward to getting on the track not sitting the car up on Jack stands .

I do hope they examine it quickly and thoroughly, and take care of you. Sucks, for sure.

Id try getting them to agree to you buy another wheel and when they get the damaged one back just give you a refund to minimize down time

Yea absolutely terrible service to this point honestly, wanted me to ship back the rim then give them time to inspect then create a new wheel 6-8 weeks.

At this point they have agreed to start making the wheel and could possibly get it to me in 6-8 weeks and acting like they are doing me the favor .

that sucks. I was really thinking about ordering a set but the price, lead time and that kind of service makes me think about rolling the dice on a set of Comos racing knock offs for half the price when they come in

If I had to do it all over a set of race stars from jegs or summit would have been the way to go.
