My buddy and I went out to a deserted section of road and did an exhaust comparison video. My 2010 has American Racing 1 7/8 Long tubes, 3" catted X and 3" Stainless Works Retro Cat Back. My buddy's 2012 has Kooks 1 7/8 Mid length headers and catted 3" X with stock midpipes and Borla S-type mufflers. His car is otherwise stock, but mine has Comp blower cams, 3.4 Whipple and other supporting mods. We do idle, rev, drive by and in-car sound clips.
I recorded this with a hero 8 and the media mod microphone...I think the sound quality is pretty decent.

Enjoy.

Great vid! Makes me appreciate my H pipe. LOL!

Are both cars catless?

The H is not as raspy in the higher rpm zone and a bit deeper at lower rpm/idle, but to each his own. I wasn't sure, but I suspected y'all did have cats, although I'm sure they're high flow versions. I have Borla's Tourings on mine without cats and it seems a whole lot louder than your buddy's car with the S type, and mine even has 20" resonators. I have ARH headers and their H pipe. I couldn't take it without the resonators.

I had longtubes/catted X/borla touring on my 00GT many years ago and I loved it.

The 2010 sounds perfect IMO, the 12 sounds good as well.

Thanks for watching guys

I definitely like overall the sound of your setup vs. the 2012's. The 2012 has a more pronounced "bark", whereas yours is smoother through the RPMs. Still loud, but a smoother loudness if that makes any sense.
