After I was finished with fixing my passenger fender my fabricator called me later that afternoon. He told me I needed to order a few more V band clamps for the exhaust he is making me. It was Sunday and I thought it was strange for him to call me. So, I asked if he was at the shop? He said yes. So, I asked him if I could stop by to drop of some stuff I had powder coated and he said no problem.
When I got there this is what he had been doing.....Working on my exhaust. This is coming out badass......
He got my "H" pipe finished up.
He got my cutouts installed. I really like these since everything is inline. The cut out motor does not stick out sideways like on other cutouts.
I also really like these because they have dual flaps. So, when the cutouts are open the main exhaust will be closed and all the exhaust gas will be directed out of the cutout. Should be loud LMAO!!!
Driver's side exhaust pipe coming off the cutout. He welded on a V band clamp to the cutout (which is why he asked me to buy a couple more) because he is making me something pretty cool. I'll show you guys once it's done.
When we initially game planned this we decided under the rear-end was a better routing. Since I wanted 3 inch exhaust there really wasn't any room to go over the axle. I told him that the exhaust on my 03 Cobra goes under the rear-end, so I was good with it. Here you can see he has my muffler installed and a V band clamp right before the rear end. That is where the tail pipes will be mounted to go out the back of the car.
I really like this look. Since the rear-end is hanging all the way down my fabricator has the tube tucked in tight. For those of you with concerns, just remember at this point when the back wheels go over a speed bump the exhaust will be raised as well. So, if the bottom of my rear-end doesn't scrape, neither will the exhaust. So, it should be fine just like on the 03 Cobra's.
Here is the look from front to back. You can see the rear-end housing is actually lower the the exhaust pipe.
Man, look at those welds. This is a piece of art work compared to the last exhaust I had installed.
