After I was finished with fixing my passenger fender my fabricator called me later that afternoon. He told me I needed to order a few more V band clamps for the exhaust he is making me. It was Sunday and I thought it was strange for him to call me. So, I asked if he was at the shop? He said yes. So, I asked him if I could stop by to drop of some stuff I had powder coated and he said no problem.

When I got there this is what he had been doing.....Working on my exhaust. This is coming out badass......

He got my "H" pipe finished up.

He got my cutouts installed. I really like these since everything is inline. The cut out motor does not stick out sideways like on other cutouts.
20210801_154521_resized.jpg

I also really like these because they have dual flaps. So, when the cutouts are open the main exhaust will be closed and all the exhaust gas will be directed out of the cutout. Should be loud LMAO!!!

Driver's side exhaust pipe coming off the cutout. He welded on a V band clamp to the cutout (which is why he asked me to buy a couple more) because he is making me something pretty cool. I'll show you guys once it's done.

When we initially game planned this we decided under the rear-end was a better routing. Since I wanted 3 inch exhaust there really wasn't any room to go over the axle. I told him that the exhaust on my 03 Cobra goes under the rear-end, so I was good with it. Here you can see he has my muffler installed and a V band clamp right before the rear end. That is where the tail pipes will be mounted to go out the back of the car.
20210801_154549_resized.jpg

I really like this look. Since the rear-end is hanging all the way down my fabricator has the tube tucked in tight. For those of you with concerns, just remember at this point when the back wheels go over a speed bump the exhaust will be raised as well. So, if the bottom of my rear-end doesn't scrape, neither will the exhaust. So, it should be fine just like on the 03 Cobra's.
20210801_154537_resized.jpg

Here is the look from front to back. You can see the rear-end housing is actually lower the the exhaust pipe.
20210801_154707_resized.jpg

Man, look at those welds. This is a piece of art work compared to the last exhaust I had installed.

looks like some quality work, I'd hate to see that fab bill lol

ROFLMAO!!!! You and me both brother! He gave me an idea already.

I won't go into specifics, but let's just say I've given him a deposit of $1K for labor and that doesn't even cover half the bill LOL. And I have purchased all the parts/materials on top of that.

The reflection in that paint looks great, I'm sure it looks deeper in person than in pictures. Your going to have to get mirrors now to show off all that work under the car.

Thank you Grabber! You're always very kind brother.

It's funny you mention the mirrors. @01yellercobra had told me that I should bring mirrors to the big Mustang show out in San Diego if I take it out. At the time I felt my build was not worthy of mirrors. However, now that my fabricator has done some amazing work with the exhaust I might have to re-think my stance and put some mirrors at the shows I go to LOL.

Okay everyone,

I officially pulled the trigger on new wheels. I went with the Schott Mach V wheel in the cover loc style. Which means the lug nuts are not exposed. I also went with the 3 bar Knock Off Spinner. I went with 18x7 up front with a 4 inch backspacing and an 18x9 out back with a 4.25 inch backspacing.

I was told that these wheels are just starting to be manufactured. So, there have only been 2 or 3 sets made so far. So, my car should have a unique look until these have been on the market a little while longer.

I was also told it will take 12 weeks until they ship.

Man, these should look sweet on my car. I'm stoked!!!

His fabrication is high quality. Looks great.

Ya know:
1) You will never have to question the reliability of his work while you drive your car.
2) He can reference this build thread to any perspective customers forevermore.

Glad you found the wheels you wanted!

Nice man.
Gonna look killer.

Thank you Tones! Yeah man, that light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and I'm loving how the end product looks in my head :D..

Thank you Lambeau! This guy is very well known in the car community here in El Paso. I knew about him back in 2010 during my first build, but couldn't afford to have him do the work I was wanting. I had to wait 3 months before I could get my car into his shop. He works by himself and his shop always has 2 or 3 cars being worked on or inline to be worked on. However, you're right, for those who do not know him can just look here if they have any doubts LOL.

Thank you on the wheels. It was a battle trying to figure everything out. I was going to settle on some wheels due to costs. However, after a discussion with my wife she said do not settle and get the wheels I wanted price be damned LMAO!!!

Always nice when your wife supports your hobbies......

Nice choice on the wheels, there going to look great.

Thank you Grabber! Yes sir, I think that wheel with the spinner is going to look amazing and really bring my car to that next level.

I'm not saying my car will be to the level and quality of Kindig or Foose or guys like that, but I definitely will not be ashamed to park next to cars built by those guys LOL.

Man, you need to stop comparing yourself to them. We all know you're not Kindig or Foose. You're Glenn. And the car you're building has some awesome work done to it by one (mostly) guy. They have companies that are built around making cars. You're doing this in your spare time.

Don't get me wrong, they make cool cars, but if you step back and look at all the cars they've built there is a style they do to every one of them. It could be smoothing a line or something with the bumpers. But they all have it. Your car has YOUR style. It has YOUR ideas and taste. It is a one of one Glenn built special.

Sorry. That was bugging me.

Thank you Bob! That means a lot to me brother. And I get what you're saying. My problem is I have a lot of respect and admiration for those guys and I feel they have set the bar/standard in the custom automotive world. So, I look at their builds, talent, design, business, equipment, personnel and so on and try to use those things as motivation/inspiration in my build.

As you say, I'm one guy doing almost everything in my garage, with half the equipment and funding the entire project myself. Don't get me wrong, I understand my limitations, but I am VERY proud of what I have been able to accomplish in the grand scheme of things.

Even my oldest daughter, who has almost no interest in cars, told me the other day that when I pass she wants the car. I asked her why and she said "because you built it Dad." Man, what a compliment.

So, I hear you brother and appreciate you letting me know your point of view on this and for reminding me to step back and look at the bigger picture here.

Hello Everyone,

Well, after practically killing myself sanding the driver's side fender this past weekend I decided that I should do a little at a time after work everyday. So, after work yesterday I went in the garage and got to work on the passenger side fender. Since my painter resprayed the top portion I left it alone and started on the side of the fender to give the top portion a little more time to cure/harden.

I like it this way better. I get to do a little at a time and see some results at the same time. I ended up spending 3 1/2 hours in the garage instead of 8 like I did on Saturday.

I also want to get these completed as my fabricator indicated I will probably be getting my car back next week, so I need to make sure the garage is clean and ready.

Since you guys already know the process I'm just showing the results.

To stay away from the top I mainly worked from the body line down.

Here you can see the different variations in the paint from 3000 grit to final polish.
20210804_182347_resized.jpg

Man, there is nothing like freshly polished paint. But, damn is it hard work LOL.
20210804_182358_resized.jpg

I really love the way the graphics stand out after being polished.
20210804_182407_resized.jpg

Again, I'm glad I got these reworked and the bottoms are now fixed.

I just thought this was a cool shot.

Very nice, meticulous work, Glenn. No way would I ever attempt to do that. LOL! The graphics really POP!!

Thank you Bob! I was at my fabricator's shop last week and he had another customer there. That guy told me I had a beautiful car and said "You can really see the detail work you've put in to this. It all flows so well" That made me feel good. I know not everyone will like a Mustang, or like red, or it's just not their cup tea in general, but to have people appreciate the work, time and effort I have put in to this build is always nice.

So, as always, I appreciate your comment my friend!

And for those of you who follow this thread, but do not comment to much, thank you for looking and following my build!

Hello All,

Just got back from the fabricator's shop. Had to drop off more V band clamps.

Man, this guy has been busy. I am so stoked it's ridiculous LMAO!!!

He's doing some amazing work on my exhaust.

Here is my tailpipe section.
20210805_132539_resized.jpg

Love the routing.
20210805_132626_resized.jpg

Love how close and even he got it with the rear vlanace
20210805_132618_resized.jpg

You can barely see it protruding from the rearend.
20210805_134953_resized.jpg

20210805_134635_resized.jpg

He got my hangers installed. I like this set up because originally I had to remove the back seat to remove the exhaust. Now, I do not have to do that.
20210805_132510_resized.jpg

Even out back he made a bracket for my tailpipe hanger. This is awesome!
