So I bought a very nice low mile silver 03 vert this weekend and it arrived Saturday afternoon. I've only driven it once because the stupid insurance company didn't email me a certificate to put in the car yet. I noticed my view out the rearview mirror was obstructed by something on both sides. There are two triangle shaped pieced hanging from both sides. They both have an elastic loop sewn at the point and appear that they should be hooked onto something. However I can't find a place to attach them. Can someone look and respond with where I am to attach them and even post a picture if possible? Thanks!

Post some photos to help us understand what you are talking about.

- Do you know if that's the original fabric top?
- Do the two triangle shaped pieces look like they were sewn in at the factory or afterwords?

My vert does not have those. Maybe the top has been replaced?
Well the two previous owners have both told me it is the original top. It looks really nice to me to be a 40k mile car even tho it's always been garage kept. Maybe I will just cut them out...?

My car has 51k and the top is in mint condition. Bought the car in 07’ with 10k on it.

I’ll try and grab some interior pics for you this week.

i just went and checked and yes those loops do attach at the rear. that triangle piece sort of covers the whole area when the top is up. i'm the original owner so i know that's how it came from the factory. i'm surprised my old ass was still able to get in the back seat lol. but i'll fire up my digital camera and try to get some pics, will take a little while though.

Not that it’s exactly the same situation, but the last 4 Ford’s I’ve bought (including my GT500) needed the front seat covers installation ‘completed’. I had to crawl in the back and clip the rear panel down to the seat frame. Seems there is a consistent inconsistency to Ford’s assembly.

Thank you so much for the pics!! I can't really see what that loop is sliding over. Is there something that it hooks on or do you have to remove something in order to slide it over a piece of metal?
sure u bet, but i couldn't really tell exactly what it was attached to or how. it's sort of blocked by that plastic trim piece that runs along the length of the glass window

Hmmm...dang well I guess I can call a Ford dealer and see if they have a part number.
