Time for new Ride. C8 Z51 or 2019 GT350R seems easy, right?

are you blind?
Gone full retard when you recommend the lowest model vette vs a rare gt350R. People will forget the c8 as the vette will be strictly mid engine. The R? Nobody's gonna forget that, and if you want to cry about power? You can supercharge it, apparently the engine can handle 800+rwhp.

Ford makes a mid engine track focused car known as the GT.

IMO, the GT350R does really well on the track as it is. But if someone wants to be truly fast on the track, they should start with something cheaper and spend the difference on seat time and coaching. You can have a fast car and be slow AF at the track.

Yea, spec miata or E36/46 then a Radical SR3. Then leave the production cars in the past as you find out how terrible they all are at track duty lol.

I still like my choice. I cant imagine any current Mustang having similar driving dynamics. Performance numbers sure, but just goes about it differently.

New Shoes coming in next.

Why would you expect a front engine pony car to have similar driving dynamics to a mid engine sports car? How do you think your vette driving dynamics compares to a Porsche GT4?

I dont. I ultimately expected and wanted a different driving experience.
When I initially start this thread over a year ago (a lot of the previous responses were scrubbed for some reason...maybe too much time between posts?) I was looking for input on why one (GT350R) or the other (C8 Z51) would provide the experience I was looking for.

I briefly considered the GT4 ($101k base MSRP) but I am not a wealthy person, I had a definite price range in mind $75k +/- $5k to work with. The two I asked about were right in that range.

I guess your question implies I was comparing the wrong vehicles to begin with. Maybe my nostalgia for all things "Blue Oval" was holding me back....

When Ford makes a 70,000 dollar, v8, manual equipped, Corvette competitor, I think my Shelby goes up for sale immediately.

I haven’t seen any C8s with aftermarket wheels yet, I think they’ll help tremendously.

The one HUGE complaint I had with this car was the available wheel choices...all not good to terrible. And VERY expensive as options...like RIDICULOUSLY expensive options for what you get.

I imagine it’s a new bolt pattern or offset dimension on the new ones? If the ones you posted the picture of are what you chose, I think they’ll look great. Blue always does with chrome…

(Wheel and tire costs for my Shelby make me miss the prices of 17/18” wheels for New Edge models…)

Basically same size as OEM 19/20. I bought a set of 30 mile take offs for $1000, sold the wheels for $450. Basically a new set of Michelin's for $550. Those will go on the new wheels, current set will be for track use.
