my point was he said they are throw away machines...meaning they are worthless. Clearly they are not.

Its waaay to early to say.
My point was what's worth something now, isn't exactly worth the same 10 years down the road. Especially a rather primitive (in the grand scheme of electric vehicles) electric car.

I think the general consensus is “battery/ev tech is going to be so much better in 10 years” and “all these problems we have now will surely be solved by 2035!”

Hate to break it to people but EV/battery tech is built on hopes and dreams. For many reasons.

Not only that but the bigger issue is the fact that the goal isn’t to simply replace ice with ev using the current model….its to limit who/when/how mobility is used in our society. The writing is on the walls gents. People cheering for EV like this is a horse and buggy argument really can’t see the bigger picture of what is happening. But hey, follow that 9.2 @ 150 carrot all the way to that cliff.

Why would you park them?
You don’t have any classic cars or trucks? How often do they get driven? I’ve got some older mustangs, one I had not started in 15 years! I changed oil, put new gas in it and bought a new 12V battery for it and she fired right up! Total cost to get it running was $200 and some time. How much to do the same in a battery car? $20,000 to replace the lithium cells? Also fun fact- the Mach pee has a regular 12v battery in it too lol.

This is a clown post just like your original post. You originally stated “ park then both for 10 years then race them” so with that statement you can park your car for 10 years and then race it without changing any fluids or gas.

then you swing from that to “ well it only cost me $200 and cost you $20,000” ….. hate to break it to you but that’s a you problem. For some 20k is the next mans $200 ( hopefully that doesn’t go over your head) .

You and the other idiot that always says “ let’s do an EV against me in a 1,000mi race” always reply with the dumbest logic . EV have their positives and negatives just like any other car.

EV have their positives and negatives just like any other car.

The only reason EV's have any positives is because the government is subsidizing them at the manufacturer and consumer level using tax payer money. Let the free market decide, and gas would continue to be the clear winner for a century.

The government has picked a loser solution, with poor energy storage using an insufficient energy delivery infrastructure. BEV's are not cleaner, they are not less expensive, they are not more convenient.

Gas-electric plug in hybrid is actually pretty viable for today's technology and infrastructure. It's a more reasonable technology progression that allows continued battery and technology advancement and would not stress our current infrastructure. It would be better to phase out residential and then professional gas power equipment first, because those things are terrible polluters.

That is true. But, the depreciation would be high. As far as this topic, we’ve got to keep in mind that those who just love/prefer the ICE and V8/V10 muscle will naturally focus on the EV faults. I’m not a big EV fan even with their superior performance, but if anyone owns one, enjoy it. Really. I’ve always said “buy what you like, and like what you buy”.

One thing I don’t like about EVs is they’re so freaking quiet that sometimes when you’re walking you don’t hear an approaching vehicle. I’m in Ogunquit and at least twice today I had an EV pass near me when I was about to cross the street and I never heard it. But to get back to the thread topic, an ICE CobraJet and an electric CobraJet with near same 1/4 mile performance is impressive. I just hope we enjoy ICE muscle cars for years to come. Long live the ICE!

Lol, someone has there panties in a big ol knot! I like how my logic is “dumb” yet you have zero rebuttal besides personal attacks and name calling. The defense to having to replace a 20k lithium pack every 8-10 years - gotta be a baller. Haha, awesome!

FlahDah man.
So there is no charging station now?

You guys should just do an easy coast to west coast drive tomorrow. My money is ICE and wins every time.
I got an idea...let's put a supercharging station in the mountains with 8000DA and no gas stations. Then lets race my tesla against your all mighty 2 valve mustang...yeah, yeah...now what bitches??? boom!

OK Bozos, stop clowning around.
