So I picked up a 2016 Charger Hellcat recently to DD and am sending it to Tune Time in NJ for some mods. So these are my plans and wanted some opinions.

I was told this should yield about 200+ more rwhp on 93 octane at be at about a 1000 bhp. Low 10's im told. Should get like 5 mpg now.....:p Smiles per gallon is a 1000 tho im told so im all in......:D

1.) American Racing Longtube Headers.
2.) Grip tech pulley.
3.) AFE CAI.
4.) 1300 injectors.
5.) Thermostat.
6.) AEM Methanol kit.
7.) CF Driveshaft.
8.) DIRS Diff Brace.
9.) 3.09 gears with diff.
10.) Billet LID from Nitrous Express (For Meth).
11.) Killer Chiller.
12.) AAD Full suspension Kit.
13.) Ebiach lowering springs 0.90 and sway bars.
14.) Ported Snout.
15.) Vicrex Widebody kit.
16.) Velgen 20x11 Titanium colored lightweight rims (VF9).
17.) Nitto 555R2's in rear.
18.) Diablosport Suspension Controller.
19.) LED Fog lamps.
20.) Upgraded HID's.
21.) CF Steering Wheel with CF shifters.
22.) Vicrex LED Front Bumper lights.
23.) LED side marker lights.
24.) 2020 Hellcat Rear Wing (Much more subtle).
25.) CF Interior.
26.) FORE DP kit.
27.) PC Unlock and tune.

Nothing crazy just some bolt on crap. I dont want to ruin it with heads and cam but I have considered The Magneson Blower. Anyone with an opinion on that?

I guess its better performing than the Redeye-Demon blower at 2.6 I think vs. my 2.3 liter or something. Magnuson is a 2.6 I think? I know know shit and have no clue what im really talking about but thats what ive read?

Anyone here got anything they wanna add? Am I forgetting any good mods?

Nice OP. I went through the same with my challenger. Here is what I would tell you.

2.) Grip tech pulley.

Pass. Get the Litens clutched upper with a pinned 10% lower.

1.) American Racing Longtube Headers.

Pass. Headers dont do shit on these motors. Stock manifolds are fine. Stock heads are fine for that matter.

9.) 3.09 gears with diff.

I went through this too but ended up sticking with the 2.62s. The 3.09s do not appear to be any faster. Even with the 2.62s you will be fighting for traction with your wheel tire set up.

Do get a brace.

considered The Magneson Blower. Anyone with an opinion on that?

Meh. The Magnuson is trash compared to the IHI unit. Same for the whipple. I know of a guy that did a balls out stroker build with a whipple 4.5 on top and he only got ~1000 whp out of it LOL.

The factory blower is very high quality. I would not touch the blower. If I did I would get a demon unit but you are dropping serious coin for not much more displacement.

Also skip the spacers. They are a gimmick, not sure why the mopar guys run them but they do.

Anything beyond pulley, injectors, cooling, cat deletes, tune and Intake for blower whine is useless. Driveline upgrades are only required if you go to the drag strip often.

I did have my blower replaced as the IHI blowers were known for bearing issues and my diff was noisy on slow corners.

I will add that after looking at most forums for Hellcats (no names mentioned for the largest one), most owners are ****ing retards. Shops know this too

Some good info above.

Definitely go with a clutched upper pulley. I’m in the process of having my blower rebuilt due to bearing wear (a known problem with the IHI). I’ve been running a 2.85 upper for around 60k before the bearings decided to crap out. The clutched pulley will extend the life of your IHI.

If going with a ported blower or snout, do your research on the porting company. There are some horror stories with some of these companies. Jokerz, Jon Bond and Kong would be my choices (Jon Bond is doing my rebuild).

Blower spacers actually worked in my case. I was making 750rwhp on 91 octane with a Lmi intake and 2.85 upper. Put on demon injectors and blower spacers / thermal blanket =795rwhp. Same dyno and tuner as before.

The Mopar community has a bunch of ding bats (but don’t all brands?), so you will need to wade your way through some bs on those forums. Overall, great cars and tons of fun. I plan to keep mine forever at this point.

When I had my charger it went 10.67 @129 factory stock on mt 20” dr’s. With 2.62’s. The redeye has been a major pita. I’ve yet to make a clean pass. Best is 11.15 @ 114. With the 3.09’s it appears this car will require a full drag pack

Thats interesting. A lot of ppl have told me the 3.09 will cause too much TQ and tire shake. Why is ur MPH so low tho? The Redeye has a bigger blower right?

Funny….that is my exact opposite experience. I could never make a clean pass with my hellcat (either too much or too little every time, just never could find the sweet spot) but have none of the same problems with my 3.09 Redeye (even modded).

OP. Lot of good info in here. They are fun cars. I actually liked my 2016 Hellcat more than my current 2019 redeye. Hellcat was rock solid…Redeye has had a host of nagging little issues (some self inflicted) that make me just not like it as much.

On 2016’s if you have any intention of regular track use make sure to upgrade the driveshaft. I’m pretty sure that was the last year with known driveshaft issues with the addition of drag radials.

And as others have said…..the Mopar aftermarket just lacks all kinds of “polish” compared to the Mustang world.

Because with mt’s on the back with the 305’s up front it sways bad up top. I have to back out or hit the wall. Like mixing radials snd bias plys. I’ve bought skinnies for it now, but haven’t been back to the track with them. The 3.09’s are definitely a hindrance.
