Look in the inspection cover. Be pretty obvious what you have.

Oh and return the adjustable cable and get a factory one. Best way to go.

Yah I'm gonna install a wideband soon, so i'll look when I'm under the car
I looked high and low to get a stock 03-04 cobra cable and unfortunately they are discontinued. But If you can find me one, that'd be awesome.

That’s strange. I would think it’s the same for any 99-04 V8 manual.

Have you tried one of the vendors on here?

It is the same for all the V8's.

When you put in the new cable make sure its lubed. Was the pivot ball replaced? After adjusting the pivot ball and clutch fork and lubing the cable my RXT was had less pedal effort than the stock clutch in my wife's 06.

Yah that's what I figured too, but when you look at the ford replacement cable for v8s 96-04, for some reason it excludes the 03-04 cobra. Not sure why.
Heres what I'm talking about:
Ford Mustang Replacement Clutch Cable XR3Z-7535-CA (96-04 V8, Excluding 03-04 Cobra)

The pivotball was replaced with an adjustable lakewood. When you say to lube the cable, where exactly is it important to lube it? Thanks

On the inside. I removed the end from the quadrant, held it up, and sprayed down the center. They make adapters for motorcycles just for this purpose.

The clutch cable on my car was previously in a 97 GT. My adjustable cable was coming apart and this was on the wall. I had planned on replacing it with a new one, but 4 years later it's still going.

I replaced my cable with a oem one when I installed my dyad clutch. Never put lube on the inside. My pedal is effortless.

I keep hearing people describe their twin discs as very light and effortless. Lets say you have a scale 1-10, with 1 being VERY light and 10 being VERY heavy, In your experience, where would you rank a single disc vs a twin? Sorry if that's a silly question, i'm just trying to get an idea of how big the difference between the two really is. Thanks

@01yellercobra Did you have to modify that gt cable to make it work? I'm looking at photos of the two different cables and the only real difference I can see is the mounting bracket is slightly different, which would be an easy fix. Are they slightly different lengths maybe?

Tough to say, but I'd rate my twin disc right around a 2 or 3. My single disc probably a 7.

My 90 coupe has a single disc and it's night and day difference between the two.

Nope. All the same. Had the bracket on it too.

Hello.... Is this thing on? "tap" "tap"....
I literally gave you the link to purchase the OEM ford clutch cable for your car in post #16 of this thread. Once again... LMR has them in stock!

The Ford cable plastic bracket just needs to be cut off if using an aftermarket firewall adjuster.

Lol, if you look at the link you posted, its says "Fitment Note: Does Not fit 2003-2004 Cobra". Why would they specify it doesn't fit the 03-04 Cobra if it actually does? I'm not saying you're wrong, but... And yah, I never said I was a fan of American Muscle, I've had hit or miss service with all the "mustang" sites.

Not sure why that fitment note is there? Unless mine was an earlier model before they supposedly "discontinued" them? My cable from them was identical to original. I never said you were a fan either, but you had a AM link above that's the only reason I mentioned it.

It’s the same cable; I’ve had mine in the car for years.
