I had the VMP triple pass, dual fan on my S197. Have since moved to the DOB Super Single, and I will soon do the Titanic.

As noted above, DOB's data concludes they hurt more than help AT SPEED because they end up blocking airflow that might otherwise flow through the HE.

Personally, I think the fans make their money in traffic under very specific criteria . . . the fans are ensuring air over the HE even when the car is not moving. Logically, that means cooler fluid temps in the system. But . . . we must remember that, at idle, very little air is passing over the IC, so it barely matters how cool that water is kept. However, if the fan is keeping the water n the HE cooler than it otherwise would be, when you crack the throttle, it will theoretically cool down your IAT2s much faster.

So . . . IMO, the fans help but only in a very specific circumstance: Right out of idle conditions.
