F150 stored on lots

Anyone live or work near any of the lots with all the nearly built F150s that are waiting for chips. Heard they got a big chip delivery and were going to try and clear them out.

I think they are storing the F150s in the woman’s section of forever 21

I think chips go to the lines 1st

I saw a huge parking lot full of built F150’s at the fairlane mall in Dearborn two weeks ago.

just sitting there waiting for chips for the center stacks.
Had to be hundreds, as far as the eye could see.

Which "chips" are vehicles waiting for, what purpose do they serve?

Drove past the Kentucky speedway a few weeks ago and there were F150s parked as far as you could see. It was crazy

Will Ford truck prices sink when these models flood the market?

Heard Sony got a ton of chips for their PS5 Systems, same chip usages that Ford needs. Maybe the manufacturer needs to go to Best Buy Walmart’s targets and clean out their ps5 inventory for the chip

Out this way Ford must have offered good coin for trade in f150's as dealerships will not move on price. As such, the used stock is sitting on lots gathering dust. Trucks I looked at a few months ago are still there with not even a deviation in price. These places won't lose money, when new inventory arrives, that's for sure.

It'll be over a year until new inventory gets back to somewhat status quo.

I have a ton of stuff on order, built and shipped...but 90% of it is sold already.

Saw yesterday that Ford had received a shipment of chips and F150s were the top priority to get them.
Article said it wasn't disclosed how many chips Ford received tho

Read the same news, which is the reason for the post. Just curious if there was any moving out of the storage areas.

I live in Massachusetts, I was just passing thru on my way to road America.
But I’ll be back there in 3 weeks, I’ll take a look again and let you know what i find !
