This is not a “I hate dogs” thread. I have nothing against dogs in general, but I grow sick and tired of hearing all these whiny little bastard dog owners whining about how scared their dog is over the 4th of July and how we shouldn’t be shooting fireworks off anymore.

Dogs were around during the Revolutionary War and afterwards.

Soldiers with PTSD were around during and after the Revolutionary War as well.

So what changed? When did people become such ****ing useless CUCKS about fireworks?

I say to hell with them and their dogs. Light ‘em up and shoot ‘em off because ‘Merica.

The problem is now that they are legal, people light them off every day from June to September

we used to drop our dog off at the in-laws in the country for the 4th of July, a couple days before actually

The other issue is how, complete morons, think they are pyrotechnic experts and then come July 5th we get to read about how they either burned down a house, lost fingers/hand or died.

That and people not realizing fireworks don't vaporize when the explode. That shit comes back down. The chemicals mess up your car paint fast.

Used to love fireworks as a kid but as I get older, leave it to the pros.

The bigger reason is that people generally look at their dogs as "extended children". Not just as pet dogs. Many dog owners are very sensitive to anything that upsets their dog, in the same way they would if something upset their child. So a loud local fireworks display on July 3, 4 is going to upset many dog owners.

Fireworks also can land on roofs. I remember many years ago a neighborhood 4th of July party ended with an impressive fireworks display. Nothing on the professional level, but some that smoldered if they landed quicker than expected. From our second floor window I could see some of the fireworks landing on neighbor roofs, and probably ours, that smoldered visibly for a few seconds before going out. Always made me wonder, though, how many fires are started as a result of these local fireworks displays.

Yeaaa. They're definitely not exactly model rockets. Built on the cheap and never had a outing where there wasn't an "Oh shit" moment were something failed and didn't go where you expected. Plus usually fireworks involve alcohol.

Not going to lie though, going to a party tonight where I will be drunk lighting off fireworks. Uber will be involved.

I think it all has to do with the owner. My dog doesn’t give a crap about fireworks, thunder or anything. When she was able to walk she just barked at people walking by the house which is fine by me.

Yup! Never Fails! Nextdoor HOA Karen makes her daily appearance and today the topic is Fireworks. They use Vets and Pets to push their agenda. As a Vet with a Pet I reply as if I'm in Smack Down.
I’m laughing like hell right now. Some Karen on the local neighborhood site was bitching about this. With all the replies the mods or whatever they are deleted the thread. I honestly can’t believe I haven’t been banned on it.

The 2 weeks of shooting them off before and 2 weeks after is uncalled for. 2-4 nights maximum, I’m ok with.

If they lose a finger or hand, that’s their problem.

If they burn a house down, they should face charges.

Why should the rest of society be punished for the stupidity of others?

Banning M-80’s, cherry bombs and all the fun fireworks goes against the very definition of freedom.

Every time someone misuses something, there’s a massive movement and coalition to ban it.

It’s ****ing hilarious what some of these morons post on there. Big problem here, so many new people to the area bitching about life here. You should see it today with a looming storm out there. They bitch about the bugs and just about everything else. I just lol.

the FB groups for my area just deletes those stupid ass posts automatically.

if your dog doesn't like that stuff give it a Benadryl, turn up the tv and stfu.

it is kind of annoying they'll do the shit for ~2weeks though. They never enforced the fireworks laws anyway so they just made em legal a few days per year
