Was sitting round this weekend with a few friends and a question popped up. Wondering if yall here might know, I sure didn't nor they.

Its been over 20 years now with the internet the way it is. No unplug your home phone and plug in your computer and stuff. I tried looking this question up and got millions upon millions of links that were no where near helpful.

So the question was, what was the first Mustang forum on the internet and when? Or the first handful of them?

I know for a year its not the early or late 80's though what about the late 90's?

EDIT: Or what was the first Mustang Forum that you remember being a member of.

I posted on a (long defunct) 3.8 Mustang forum back when I was 12. I pretended to be much older. The fact that nobody ever called me out back then was either a testament to my maturity level, the maturity level of the average V6 Mustang owner, or both. Compared to today, the internet was a weird place back in the early 2000s.

Oh yeah, does anyone remember the Roush site - fnsweet.com? It's a shame that one went down, there was a lot of good information to be found there.

Lots of sites back then. I remember it took me bout two hours to visit just the Mustang sites and reply.

I do. FNSweet was the first site I joined because I had purchased my Roush (how I got my screen name). Then they tried to update the site and it was never the same so it went away.

I tried to come here first, but back in the day this site was full of premadonna 03 Cobra owners. It was like living in the smackdown thread.

Once this place chilled out it became great. I can't see myself on any other Mustang site now.

I used to frequent moddedmustangs.com and corral.net..... probably not the firsts.. lots of good memories and people met on those boards.

I'm glad SVTP is still active for the most part, I would much rather come here than deal with facebook.. I like the quick replys on facebook but its so hard organize the information........

This is where we differ a bit.

I miss when the forum was a little bit meaner. It was fun.

First one I think I came across was StangNet too...

Domain Name: stangnet.com

Registry Domain ID: 2592384_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN
Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.google.com
Registrar URL: Google Domains – Register Your Domain Name – Google Domains
Creation Date: 1998-05-08T04:00:00Z

Domain Name: corral.net

Registry Domain ID: 4160491_DOMAIN_NET-VRSN
Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.uniregistrar.com
Registrar URL: Uniregistry - Domain names made easy.
Creation Date: 1995-10-02T04:00:00Z

So, looks like corral.net was created in mid 90's, but didn't get a start until early 2000.

I think my first one was the forum Saleen used to have on their website, this would have been around 1994, maybe early 95. Also the corral, mustangworld, stangnet, and before all those there were some "lists", anybody remember those? They were kind of like bulletin boards but more rudimentary.

Ah damn I read this as "first Mustang forum you were on"

The first of the first has to be like corral or stangnet. Some of them were vendor links and articles before they even had vbulletin forums. I was on tccoa.com (thunderbird car club of america) and remember when that forum was in its infancy.

My first was mustangworld. Not sure what was around before that. I probably joined there in 2000 or so? Then maybe corral for me.
I didn't join SVTP til shortly after I got my Cobra in '04

It wasn't a Mustang only site, but it had Mustang owners on it. It was fordvschevy.com. That would have been around 2000-2001. Then stangnet, corral, and here.
