Anyone run these on their Cobra, or have you heard them? I'm having a tough time choosing the right muffler. I like the Spintech sound, but I'm thinking the Pro Street will be too loud, so thinking about the Sportsman. I can't find a decent YT video of them on a mustang.

I'm currently running stock manifolds, Bassani o/r x pipe (have the cats too, in the garage), and some unknown mufflers. The mufflers have a straight through sound, but are pretty loud and the drone is sometimes unbearable. The wife is starting to hate the car, and I'll be honest, my ears hurt after an hour ride. I find myself constantly shifting up or down to try so keep the drone down, which makes the car less enjoyable. There are no markings on the mufflers, so I don't know what they are, which sucks. I could put the cats on, but it takes away some of the rawness of the exhaust sound which I like, so I'd like to keep it o/r for now.

My question on the Spintech Sportsman is how bad is the drone/volume around 2k rpm? Is there a decent growl at startup and some rumble at idle? I don't really care about WOT screaming as I really just cruise, and occasionally get it up to 6k rpm. Can you compare the volume to another more popular muffler? It's a convertible, btw.

No experience with those. That said, have you tried running with cats but no muffler? Essentially just a muffler delete. I have a coupe with this set up and like the tone of the exhaust through the range. As is fairly typical, there is some drone but not objectional. My wife likes the sound. Actually, everybody who has ridden with me comments on liking the sound. Just a thought.

That's an interesting option. Are you using a stock h pipe or aftermarket high flow cats? Dumped at the axle or out the back? My mufflers are welded into the stock flow tubes so I'd have to hack the whole thing up to remove the mufflers and add turn downs or new tubing to keep it out the back.

Aren't the chambered mufflers the ones that put out the most drone? I like the sound of the spintech stuff I would assume the sportsman would be just a touch quieter than the race onces.

Yes though some claim the drone from Spintech aren't as bad as other chambered mufflers, like Flow master. I feel like the drone on my current mufflers is so bad because they're some shitty no-name weld-ins. Maybe a better muffler will drone less. I know there will always be some drone. There's a clip of a red 03 cobra that sounds pretty damn good at start (below) but no sounds driving, and hard to gauge how loud it actually is. The guy says they're part number 3335 in the description, so I think they're Sportsman.

Stock cats and H pipe. Stock pipes without the mufflers with 3" chrome tips below the rear valence.

Any particular reason you didn't go with the Spintechs?

Kinda the same reason as you, I couldn't find much for audio samples. That was years ago though, there may be more now.

I love the Ultraflos though. They are exactly the sound I was looking for. Zero drone, and they sound like sex to my ears.

Did you go with a complete catback? 2.5 or 3in?
