Im really impressed with Shelby Competition Heat Exchanger. Definitely keeps my IAT2's cool even on a 90deg day of spirited driving. It was a 97 degree day this data log was done. Max IAT & IAT2 was sitting at idle with the car running for 20 minutes. Numbers dont lie.

Save your money. Probably the least effective add on part I have put on the car.
The factory heat exchanger is very good.
Unless you do a lot of back to back drag strip racing, you are unlikely to feel any improvements.
Not needed for the street, IMO.

Those numbers are pretty much what I see with my set up. Dual pass AFCO, 14 GT500 pump, VMP intercooler with stock lines for now. I've noticed it recovers a lot faster with the newer pump.

Cool! Sounds like you have an efficient cooling system. IMO I think those are some good numbers for a nearly 100 degree day while spirited driving.

That’s some good data! I’m excited to get mine in. What intercooler tank do you have?

I have the shelby Aluminum intercooler tank. I believe it holds close to a gallon. Still have the stock intercooler but the car is going back to shelby this fall for some major upgrades. Im gonna have them install a Kenne bell biggun intercooler( Bigun Shelby, Cobra Jet, 5.0 Hi Density Core Intercoolers | Kenne Bell) and modifiy intake to get them charge temps down more as well with the other engine upgrades im doing.

FWIW, I do believe the GT500 set up is much better than the Terminator from the factory. So not really an apples to apples comparison there.

having a larger intercooler with 1” fittings, J2Fab or cobra engineering adapter and bigger lines is the only way you’re going to see big results. Otherwise, as others have said the stock setup is fine.
