Quick question for all the folks on this message board. Just recently purchased an 03 Cobra from the SVT site and took it in to inspection. Upon them plugging into the OBD port it failed due to 2 sensors not ready (EGR, Catalyst).

Was able to plug an OBD scanner to see the p1000 code in that I cleared to reset all of the sensors. Shortly thereafter now the EGR, Catalyst and EVAP were not ready for some time. After a couple weeks of driving the EVAP went ready but still no EGR or Catalyst.

Took the car to a tuner (switched over to an e85 tune) and figured now was the time to do it because had to flash the system and would reset the tests. Shortly after picking the car up had the 3 sensors not ready EGR, Catalyst, and EVAP). The tuner did mention the EGR was turned off in the original tune however he had now turned it on. He did mention while tuning the car the upstream 02 sensors were slower to respond and recommended changing them.

Now after driving the car for a couple of hundred miles (200) the EVAP sensor has gone ready however still no EGR or Catalyst. So my question is 1 would the upstream 02 sensors possibly cause this issue of them not going ready or anything else I am missing that would cause them not to go ready?

Here in AZ I am only allowed one not to be ready so do not care which one just need one more sensor to turn on.

Thank you!

Not sure what our cars look for as far as cats being ready.

Guessing it’s the change between front and rear O2s.

I’m guessing you have cats?

RE the EGR system, are you sure it’s functional?

EVAP takes the longest for me EGR is ready before I even check if EVAP is reset.

Google the reset parameters for EGR and see what you find. EVAP is certain amount of fuel, certain speeds etc.

Thanks just replaced upstream 02 sensors as tuner said they were slow to respond during tuning. The car does have cats so hopefully that turns the sensors on.

Google the readiness parameters.

But again, my EGR is reset by the time my EVAP is @20 miles or so

Makes me think you have an issue going on but after verifying the system is intact if Google those parameters

I had the same exact issue with my 04. Is the CEL on? If not you most likely need to run the car though it's "drive cycle". Driving the car a bunch of miles won't always put the car though a drive cycle. There are specific speeds at (x) amount of miles/time the ecu need to see. Its pretty ridiculous what it wants for a "drive cycle". Best thing to do is get an obd 2 scanner/code reader that has a drive cycle function. I bought one from auto zone. The tool will prompt you while driving what it wants. Once complete it will tell you. The one I have is the "Imnova 3040rs v1." Good luck!
