Hey everyone I'm thinking of getting a 13-14 500 and had some questions. I sold my 18 GT to Vroom for way more than it was worth. I have a new Mach1 ordered, but they have pushed the build date back to end of August so I'm betting I won't see it this year due to the sport Cup 2 tires. Anyway I've always wanted a Shelby so I talked the wife into getting one. She won't drive a stick so I wanted to go with a 20-21, but the numbers are crazy now. If I can get a decent deal, I think she will let me get a 13-14 and then the Mach when it arrives. 60k is going to be tough to choke on when the mach is another 60, might as well get a 21, lol Any leads or advice is appreciated.

Are the Recaro's in the 14s wider than the ones in the newer cars? Most of the 500s I've found have Recaros and I'd prefer the standard seat since I'm a bigger guy, unless the older ones are wider.

And the second question is Value, I know it's a vague term and the market is insane now any way. I see lots of 14's in the high 50's to low 60's, will those come down after the bubble or stay high? Where were those prices a year ago? Just trying to figure where I need to be for negotiating.

I would wait until the Fall to purchase if you can. IMO, the prices will go down some then, always do when Winter months are approaching. Especially if the chip issue has settled down by then.

Can you not find the Mach 1 you want at a local dealer? I've seen plenty of them local to my area at every Ford dealer. Just an idea so you don't have to wait so long.

Mine has the handling pack, and elite package. Plenty of normal ones out there but very very few of what I have ordered, I found one but they want 77k for it, lol I laughed and said call when, they come back to thier senses. I could get a regular one, but the one I have ordered i'm getting a heck of a deal on. None of the dealers want to trade with other dealers is another issue with the chip shortage. Just wanted something to drive the rest of the summer.

So many differences in the 13/14 GT500 compared to the new Mustang platform. IMHO...it gets down to what you want. Most if not all 13/14 owners would tell you it is the best option out there. Nothing beats rowing thru the gears. The newer platforms are hard to beat considering the changes but would not trade my 14 with 20,000 miles on the clock for new Mach.
BTW...you almost lost me at "I think she will let me get"...WTF is up with that? Anytime my wife of 40 years tries to go down that path...I just point to her $20K diamond earrings and press forward.

The '15+ years, the Recaros are narrow.

Anyways, as far as value the 13/14, they aren't gonna come down in price. The market is thin on CLEAN, LOW MILEAGE, examples. Those that have them know what they are worth. I surf the markets weekly. The prices are way to high for what they have in most cases. Mileage, owners, missing stripes, etc.

Your in the 13/14 section of this forum so the answers will be tilted a little bias. Its not my money, and it is your choice, but Ford has lost me after 2014.

There is nothing that remotely interests me. 2015+......dime a dozen
And thats the mindset of the majority of 13/14 Shelby owners.

Agree. I constantly watch the Car sites looking over the 13/14s and now the 20/21models.

One thing I've noticed is roughly 70% of the 20/21 models sitting on show room floors are the CFTP Models. I think the market for paying $100K + for a Mustang has shriveled up.

Up next will be the ridiculous ADMs on the base models. I hope the production ramps up this Fall, prices will have to drop by then.

I have to live with her, lol Nah, she will let me get a new 500 if I want, she just wasn't keen on the payments.

Can you give more details on it like options, colors, etc. Is it a dealer, private seller, etc.

Well, the dealer will charge more money than a private seller, especially in this market. Do they seem negotiable? Also, have you checked out the marketplace here or the Facebook pages?

Yeah, I'm all over the place looking. Didn't see many on here and I need to check out more of the FB pages. This one popped out and I was curious. The biggest thing is most of the nice ones I find have recaro's, I know I can swap them out, but its another cost to add on.

Yeah, you’ve got a point. I’m starting to see more ‘Want to buy’ add versus selling on here

Just my 2 cents, you're not going to get a clean 13-14 with 10k miles for under 55k right now. IMO, 56k is pretty fair in the current climate.

Unless you get extremely lucky. I think it would be difficult to do even in pre-inflation prices.

Morrison has some nice examples:
Morrison Motor Company

I have a friend that bought one from him and they are great to work with.

Aside from a slight inconvenience, there wouldn’t be any cost to swap the Recaros. You’d probably have a long line instantly with guys dying to swap their base seats plus cash for your Recaro seats.

Good point, I'll look into that.
