New video is up, taking forever to remove the damaged factory bumper cover and checking fitment on the new replacement bumper.

A few other things arrived yesterday

Passenger side rear ground effect replacement:

I’m looking forward to having more precise steering on the Fox but I’m a little worried about the installation on this, lol.

I’ve got a few things I want to do on the Dudestang before I get to the steering shaft.

Dropped off my new rear bumper cover and passenger side ground effect piece for paint a few weeks ago and then took a road trip. Called the shop this week and the guy said the paint was done on the bumper cover but the ground effect piece was taking longer (I guess it wouldn’t take the paint on the first attempt).

In the meanwhile, I went ahead and picked this up since the original part is pretty rusted.

Hoping I can pick the bumper cover up soon and get it back on the car.

I still haven’t made time to put the new steering shaft in yet but am hoping to do that soon, along with an oil change
and a few other things.

Picked up the newly painted bumper cover and ground effect piece this morning:

This apparently launched white paint as the theme of the day…

Anyone know what these brackets are called or where I might find some replacements? I’ve been doing some searching and not coming up with much yet.

I’ve replaced the larger ones with three bolts but haven’t been able to find the smaller ones. They are pretty bent up. I suppose I could try to straighten them out but I would rather replace them, if replacements exist.

I'm also looking to upgrade my steering in fox. I bought a SN95 steering rack, but haven't had the ambition yet to install it.

Looking good so far!

If anything, at least you know what it’s called. I am glad to see you remaking this car. I have a special connection to foxes, hence why I own two. My first was an 88 white with red stripe GT. I wish I never got rid of it and could find it today.

I called MRT today to see if there’s any way to get the small brackets outside of ordering a full set. The guy I spoke to is checking on it and said he would get back to me.

Ended up getting smaller brackets cleaned up with some rust remover and paint. Not perfect but I was able to make it work.

The bumper cover fit pretty well but the ground effect piece was a bit more of a pain to get installed and definitely didn’t fit as well as I would have liked.

Here’s how it looked before:

I documented some of the process for my latest video here:

Hoping to find some time to start working on the MM steering shaft thing and do an oil change in the next week or two.

I went to a car audio shop last weekend with the intent of getting a quote on a new stereo setup for the Fox. As much as I tried to convince myself I was OK with the soulless gap in the center console and no music, I needed something. The shop wasn't super busy and the guy ended up installing a new double din receiver in a little over an hour. I now have Apple Car Play in my Fox:

The passenger door speaker is missing but the rest of the speakers work OK. Next I just need to get a replacement door speaker, an amp, and a subwoofer or two.

A few days ago, I had a local shop weld in Flowmaster high flow cats to the offroad x pipe (it was on the car when I bought it). The car definitely seems a bit quieter and I think the cats helped get rid of most of the gas smell but I'll need to drive more to confirm.

I still have the drone, I assume due to the Flowmasters, so at some point I'm going to see about adding a new cat-back or swapping the Flowmasters for a different muffler design.

Anyways, I uploaded a new vlog yesterday:
