So what is a fair price for the Mecum car? $70K with that mileage and options? Maybe $68? I doubt the buyer would go broke by spending an extra $6,000 above what today's market it. That might be one week's salary. Or, a couple weeks. In this price range, I don't see a few thousand being a huge deterrent to get what you want.

I totally agree with you! The buyer knows he ended up with a peach, so no sweat paying slightly more? No harm to this person whatsoever, and they will enjoy their new purchase and NOT worry about paying a bit more. I don't know why people get their panties in a bunch over this. I am glad the new buyer is happy with their "new" car!

No glass roof, no recaros. Guy was buzzed and drunk at that auction.
$76,000 w/o full options is not a good "yard stick" to apply at determining value

Even better when you drop in 3:73s
Personally, I like my standard seats. They are heated, they are electrically adjustable. Actually glad that mine didn't come with the Recaro seats. Would the glass roof have been nice? Sure. But I also like the stripes going over the entire top of the car.

I suspect that in another 5 years or so... the 13/14 GT500's will be more desirable & worth more $$ than the 2020 / 2021 + GT500's.

With the way shits going on in the world, I don't think anyone can guarantee 5 days from now, let alone 5 years.

But, I agree with you, if we make it to the 5 year mark. Lol

I suspect that in another 5 - 10 years the 13/14 GT500's will be more desirable & worth more $$ than the 2020 / 2021 + GT500's.

Talk like that will get you kicked off other GT500 forums! Blasphemy I tell you!

I skimmed a bit over there and even hung out awhile. Yes, its true. If you aren't 100% on board with the "2020 GT500 is gods chariot" you are shunned. Its a great car, performs well, first mustang with a DCT, but it isn't the end all be all. Different strokes easily applies here.

It does. Despite all the hoopla and enormous advancement within the 2020 GT500, I still love the look and feel of my archaic, old S197 GT500. It actually looks like a Mustang.

Agreed. IMHO, the 13-14 GT500's are the best looking Mustangs since the 03-04 Cobra's. The 2020 GT500 just has too much going on for me. The GT350's look better IMO

You must be joking!
As much as I loved my `13, my `20 blows it out of the water...in every way. (except in fuel mileage)

No joke...Based on the 13 / 14 GT500's "muscle image", looks (like a Shelby), 3 petals, 5.8L - largest engine, awesome transmission, solid axle, last of its generation, convertible top option, not to mention the emotion, excitement, & buzz when it came out (still relevant for many enthusiasts). For the first time in my life...I have zero desire to own "the best Shelby" 20 / 21...as it does nothing for me. I should have kept all three of my 1993 Cobras (all three colors), my two Terminators, and my 2005 Ford GT. All of those vehicles have appreciated. My "gut" tells me the same appreciation potential regarding the 13 / 14 GT500's. I do not think the latest Shelby will appreciate, nor will the newest C8, for similar reasons. Although they may perform better than their predecessors. Don't get me wrong - I'm not in this hobby for investment purposes...but I'd rather have my vehicles appreciate than depreciate.

Many of us would rather not own a 370Z look-alike. Quite satisfied with our S197 GT500s. By the way, hard to blow cars out of the water when the DCT transmissions keep failing.

Not in fun factor, sorry. (yes i've driven one)
I seriously considered one, and chose to keep the '14 instead despite it being slower and more dated.

I like to row gears and the '13/'14 simply has a better drivers feel which is more fun

some people aren't actually looking to squeeze every microsecond out of a car that's not being used on a track.

If I did, i'd just buy a full track built car and blow em both outta the water lol

Don't get me wrong, I loved my `13 and I miss the glass roof. It's a fun car and I enjoyed every mile. If you feel the `13-`14 gt500 is the ultimate Mustang, thats great and I'm not knocking your love and passion for the S197.

If you find fault with the s550, DCT or whatever, I will remind you that the `13-`14s have their many faults as well. (no need to elaborate)

All I'm saying is the `20s brakes, suspension, engine/trans, IRS, just to name a few, are far better than what the s197 has to offer. Lets face it, the car has evolved.

If you'er looking for investments, (unless you owned a 2nd or 3rd gen FordGT since new), look elsewhere to invest.

If you want to build a "track car" to blow them both out of the water then, OOOOOk.
