...ads.

Get Ready for In-Car Ads

Cliff's: Ford has a patent on a system to see billboards and bring up in-car ads on your infotainment system. Science fiction becomes reality every day. There is no escape. Consume.

This could be extraordinarily profitable for them. After all everyone else is already raking in the money for your data and placing ads on lock screens, TVs, computers. Your infotainment system is just the next step. I'm sure the lawyers are salivating at the inevitable lawsuits as well.

I really cannot think of a more idiotic idea. Yes just what we need something else to distract people from driving.

But given this is from the same company that thinks the Lightning badge should go on a stupid electric pickup truck, and that named the Mockery a Mustang, nothing surprises me.

In a few countries in Asia, when you walk by a store the store texts your cell phone with ads/sales. That was "new" 15 years ago.

Being alive has become 1 nonstop advertisment.
I can't wait to retire.
"Have you talked to a financial advisor about planning for your retirement?

THESE 10 TRICKS THAT BANKS DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW CAN MAKE YOU MILLIONS IN RETIREMENT"

I realized this was a thing when I looked at a Fire Tablet for the first time.

If you product goes "Would you like this for 69.99, OR the option ad-free version for 99.99"

Like WTF

Don't worry ford will charge you to turn all the BS off. Either way they'll cash in.

I am willing to bet they'll completely eliminate basic head units all together. This will allow them to charge more for the car AND get you to pay them to turn the adds off. ****ing cocksuckers.

I hate advertisements so much now-a-days. Not just because they interrupt the content I'm actually enjoying, but because they seem to think that being irritating is the best way to win me over. I'll never understand these companies who think I'd spend a dime on their shit when they make me want to punch them in the face. If my car did that to me, I'd smash the shit out of it.

I daily a focus st... It's on my phone. When I sit a light long enough Waze pops up an ad. As soon as I love it goes away.
Weird. I connect my phone to the car using apple carplay, but don’t get any ads. I did recently notice that I can’t report hazards, police, etc... Maybe there’s a newer version.
