Again.... Why go through the trouble for 1100 miles? If you going to turn back the miles, turn them back to something that would actually make a difference. Just my opinion

Isn't the mileage recorded at the DMV when sold?

Say he put 40k miles on it since buying it from OP.
Could get more coin listing it near the mileage he bought it at rather than at 65k miles.

That being said, this is like the 3rd thread on his former car. Did he get banned from the corvette forum?

Hey guys u all need to calm down.

Seller bought the car decided to gut interior to install a downgraded interior then decides to sell car not fully disclosing that fact until it was brought to light.

If he was up front about it I wouldn't care.
Now the mileage seems to be an issue so again he should show a pic of what it shows now.

He did the interior swap, changed the cluster I wouldn't put it past him that there is a mileage issue and I really do hope it's just a memory thing but not knowing what the mileage is by a thousand miles or so is a bit far fetched.

Damn man, stop dick riding this guy. It was his car to mod as he planned. He swapped interior and listed it as a 2LT.

move on with your life

Normally I'd hate on OP, but...

  • Undisclosed interior downgrade/swap
  • Undisclosed cluster swap/mileage discrepancy
  • Never registered it "because of COVID"

This seller sounds skeezier than a Tuesday afternoon stripper.

This is a really good point, and that coupled with the fact he says he never registered it could make for some serious DMV headaches for whoever buys it and tries to register it.

No assumptions being made here. It was actually the 'non disclosure' of the interior in the previous thread that made me notice this current thread. If I remember correctly, you said he didn't mention the changing of the interior but you did say he had advertised it as a 2LT instead of the 3LT that is was. That got him into the correct interior being sold, right? And I'm guessing the 3LT had a few bonus items included that the new buyer would be getting 'for free'.

To a purist, non-matching parts might be bad. To someone wanting a nice car, getting any extras for free would be good. So, one guy loves the seller and the other doesn't. Oh, well...

The supposed discrepancy in the mileage is easily explained as rounding error. Most ads give a mileage at a particular time but no one really expects it to stay that way forever, right? Test drives, time, etc change all. I'm guessing a simple question from the buyer would confirm the actual miles and that it was pretty close to what he stated (in as much as it was not registered or being driven).

The threads pretty much call out the seller as being shady and a bad seller. I'm just not sure that's entirely fair. It is definitely open to interpretation. I get that he is not your favorite seller. Can you imagine him at this point thinking that you are not his, either? It all depends on point of view.

No offense intended. Have a great night.

As a fellow Canadian I'm just going to tell you that when you are reading and trying to understand the FULL story of ALL the threads (including the one over on CF) please make sure you aren't downing the whole bottle of Quebec's finest maple syrup in one gulp.

What bonus items would a buyer of this car get now that it is downgraded to a 2LZ interior from the factory original 3LZ? Read your paragraph again it makes no sense. Somebody is actually going to get cheated out of getting a proper vehicle by him NOT DISCLOSING WHAT HE DID IN THE INITIAL AD LISTING AND TRYING TO PASS THE CAR OFF AS AN ORIGINAL FACTORY 2LZ CAR. Understand??? Get it now????

Rounding error???? LMAO!!!! You round up maybe 50-75 miles if you know you are still driving the car. You don't round down about 300 miles minimum or 1100+ miles from what it had when you first purchased the car and drive 8+ hours home with it from Canada.

It's his car now and he can do what he wants with it. If he made these drastic changes and decides to sell the car it should be disclosed that the interior was changed WHICH IS WHAT HE DIDN'T DO ORIGINALLY. Again if he had done that in his ad from the get go I wouldn't have a problem and ultimately up to the new buyer to decide whether to purchase or not. Yes, he's not in my good books and I'm sure neither am I in his but then again I didn't sell him a car with a gutted original interior replaced with a downgraded one, possible mileage issue and not tell him about it. Understand that????

Now for the rest of you, all I'm doing is making sure that anyone if they are in the market for a vehicle (in this case a Z06) know the history of the particular one in question. If this was my old 13 Shelby GT500 and the same situation came to light and I was made aware of it I would do the same thing and here on this SVTMB you guys would be thanking me for making sure someone (who could be a member here) knew what they were buying. Again if you are ok with what has happened to this car with the now current owner then do your full diligence and purchase it. You can leave all the "Fatal Attraction" BS out of it and for those that didn't read EVERYTHING properly and are just making assumptions find some other threads to troll. Next time someone stays quiet when they know a vehicle's history ain't proper it could be you that purchased that car and I hope it turns out to be separate halves of two cars welded back together.

Good god OP. I would absolutely hate to be your neighbor.

Only if I'm at your BBQ and you try to pass off a "Beyond Meat" burger to me as a real beef burgie.

I'm done, need to take my ZR1 out for a spin to remind myself why I sold 2 PERFECTLY good cars to get THE KING!!!!!

Fact of the day... if I were to put my Shelby up for sale today. I’m in Lousiana and 2 hours from my car and won’t see it til Friday

I “ think “ it’s got like 51,000 miles.. could have 52, or 51,500.. I legit have no idea. Shit could be 53k

so if I were to say it’s got 51,000... but might actually have 51,500 how butt hurt would you be?

Heading out the door but I'll answer your question. I'd tell you to get me a pic of the mileage Friday when you get to the car. I could wait till Friday FYI no skin off my back if it sells sooner plenty other Shelbys I could buy and would know the "real" mileage before I go further with my diligence.
