I need some advice on purchasing a set of Race Ramps.

I have a lowered, on Eibach Pro Kit springs, GT500 that I would like to be able to change all fluids and oil, and be able to swap mid pipes in and out on.

Not interested in buying a low profile jack, making ramps out of wood, or a buying a Quick Jack. I do own a regular profile jack. I consider these ramps a lifetime purchase, and want to be able to use these ramps on all my future cars, that might be lower than my GT500, so I'm going for their lowest angle of approach models, around 6 degrees.

I would like to get the whole car in the air, for mid pipe swaps, be able to remove one wheel at a time for brake fluid changes/pads, and use ramps for oil changes on this, and my other two cars.

I'm thinking of a set of ramps, 2 four inch roll ups, 2 chocks, 2 10" or 8" wheel cribs, and ramp extenders if needed.

A couple of ramp decision questions:

The 72" 6.8 degree ramps.

Pros: No need for extenders, two piece design.
Cons: Only gets you 8" of lift, only 12" wide.

The 67" XT 10.8 degree two piece ramps.

Pros: Gets you 10" of lift, 14" wide.
Cons: Must buy the extenders to make the 6 degree approach. The GT500 won't clear 10.8

Last choice 80" Multi Purpose 8.5 degree ramps.

Pros: Gets you 10" of lift, 14" wide, no extenders needed for my GT500 (future cars might need the 6 degree approach!!), can be used as trailer ramps.
Cons: 8 versus 6 degree approach.

Which ramps would you get?

Use questions:

I would like to get a wheel off for brake work. Do the 4" roll ups and jack allow you to do this quickly, without the need for the whole ramp set up?

To get the whole car up, I'm guessing you need to use the ramps on the front wheels, put the roll ups under the back wheels, drive the whole car forward, chock front wheels, jack the rear of the car up from under the differential, then place jack stands on the axle tubes or wheel cribs under the rear wheels?

What are your Race Ramp set ups? Do you regret buying them, or have you found any negatives about owning them? I would hate to make a $650+ mistake.

Thanks!

To get the whole car up, you could use two sets of ramps, but that gets expensive. IMO you want as much room under the car in order to work comfortably. 2" doesn't sound like a lot until you're laying under the car. Personally, I'd re-think the use of a QuickJack.

Quick Jack + Race Ramp Wheel stands will pretty much emulate a lift.

The Stands do a great job if having the suspension loaded doesn't matter (so midpipe swap or something like that)

Quickjack works if you want to snatch a wheel off/set the car on the stands/etc

Good combo that can get a lot done

I have both. The race ramp do have limitations IMO . I bought my race ramps before my quick jack. Quick jack is the way to go that is safe , easy to use and the lift you need.

I use them and I love them. I have the 2pc ramps, chocks and 12" blocks. My gt is lowered on vogtland sport plus springs and I don't come close to touching. My saleen is on the 12" blocks. Makes getting around it on all corners very easy.

67 with the extenders. Works well my 14 GT500 and ZL1 with no issues. However, I am for sure looking at the quick jack.

I got annoyed having 3 pieces with the extenders, thats a long way to go to make sure the ramps and car are lined up straight. By the time I got the 6 pieces out, laid em down, lined em up and pulled the car up I could have just pulled up onto 2 pieces of wood and jacked up the car up on stands. I sold mine.

Yep, great combo.

67" Race Ramps with extenders is what I use with the Z.

U.M., what is the lift height with your Race Ramps?

Quick jacks here too, I really like them. Although I always wanted some race ramps.

If you go that route, don't buy the 7000lbs set. I bought them because they were used and it saved me like $900, but they weigh like 100lbs and I'm not comfortable putting anything heavy on them anyway.

I enjoy my 67" race ramps. They worked great for my Charger HC and again for my RS3.

Funny you say the quick jack 7000 is heavy because looking up the specs there's only an 18lb difference between the 5k and 7k setup.

What about them concerns you with regards to putting heavier vehicles on them though?

I would seriously reconsider your thoughts about not wanting a Quickjack. Ive only had a set for about a year, should have gotten them a long time ago. Heck, I've even used them on a 4 post lift, that does not have the scissor jack option to get the wheels off.

The guy who bought I bought it from bent one of the extension risers lifting an F350.

It's probably fine, I'm not concerned about the frame at all, but my duramax is within 500lbs of the limit so I just use my jack when I need to pull tires off of that.
